Sure hope someone losses there pass privileges over this.

For what?

One of two things is true:
1. Whoever gave them the passes failed to investigate and inform them of the challenges of flying buddy passes as a family into and out of SLC;
2. The family was told, but ignored the warning.

In the first case, shame on the employee who didn't explain.
In the second case, shame on the family for expecting others to pay for their mistake. Our entitlement society continues to grow.
