Snooze. Basic BCS-Conference Fan Rhetoric. Because Boise State could never beat Oklahoma. Oh wait. Boise State could never beat Oregon State twice. Oh wait. Tidy Bowl. Classic. Never heard that before. Smurf Turf, how original.

We all know the reason the BCS conferences schedule the powderpuffs. It's in order to pad the win columns of each of the conferences teams in order to qualify as many teams as possible for a bowl. A BCS conference can be dropped from the ranks and replaced by a non-BCS conference if that Non-BCS Conference has a higher winning percentage than said BCS Conference. Go ahead and keep scheduling the patsies, and then hope for a miracle comeback against Fresno State again. Oh, also another WAC team. Go figure.

Virgina, Ohio State and Notre Dame are patsies? Okay, whatever you say. 'SC should stick to Fresno State, Idaho, Hawaii, that really makes a statement. It's kind of cool you know so much about 'SC. I don't about Boise State, makes you wonder how they got your attention?

I hate the BCS. I want a playoff. So do most of College Football Fans. I'm sure you're no different. Hey, when is the last time a WAC team won a National Championship? Maybe that's why there so irrelevant? Wow, Boise State beat an overrated Choklahoma. Good job, how'd they do against Georgia? And how'd Georgia do that year? Play against a powerhouse and the house of cards fall. How'd your WAC Champion do against Georgia in 2007 with all the money on the line? You got a few good games, wow. Everybody does, Championships are what grabs attention. That's why 'SC has yours.

As I recall, the University of Idaho Vandals are also a WAC team. And furthermore, did the Trojans not play them this past season? Also, aren't the Vandals consistently listed in the Bottom 10 of all 119 teams? If your team is going to play a powderpuff OOC team, they could at least try to take on the best Non-BCS team in the country. That's ok though, they'll do your Trojans a favor by adding one to the loss column for Oregon this year.

I also don't understand your Oregon comment. Oregon was on their way to a 2007 National Championship until their Star QB Dennis Dixon tore his ACL. I don't believe they won 1 game after that happened.

BYU won a National Championship as a member of the WAC. After that, the Power Conferences started to make sure that it would never happen again.

Also, you discount what Boise, Fresno and Hawai'i are able to do with 1 and 2 star recruits and JUCO transfers. But I guess that in your world only the PAC10 and SEC play football.

At least ESPN can see outside your world. They ranked Boise State as the 16th best team over the past 10 years. Ahead of your touted powerhouse Notre Dame. And the highest non-BCS team on the list. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2947988

Because, if you knew the schedules, Boise State plays in Eugene this year, and then the Ducks play on the Blue next year in Boise.

Hey, I'm just going off the fact that your same ESPN analysts (and SI) ranked the SEC #1 Conference and the Pac 10 a close 2nd. You don't get that kind of attention unless you have some good football teams. Notre Dame is the 2nd winningest program of all time. Where does Boise State rank?

16th best? Like I said, you'll play Pitt for 9th place, er in this case 16th. 1984, BYU indeed won a NC as a member of the WAC. Norm Chow, being their O coord. and Jim McMahon their starting QB. BYU still have their crazy Offensive formations, I believe left over from Norm Chow (now at fUCLA--Head Coached by Rick Nieuheisel the man who single handedly destroy Univ. Washington).

Quit blaming the big boys for your lack of attention. I wish we had a play off, but until then it will be what it is. The little guys are starting to get squeaky so maybe we'll get to see your little broncos lose on a Nat'l scale? Or now we'll see UTEP vs. Boise State and get a good wide range.

I'm not in the habit of memorizing Boise State's schedule. There is a thread in Non-Aviation Chat under College Football. Could you post Boise State's schedule there?

I just bumped the thread for you XPOO, should be easy to find if you want.

Boise State only moved up to Div. 1A, or the current FBS, in 1996. It only took them 11 years to crash your big boy party and take the trophy home. In that 10 years they were 5-2 in bowl games against such teams as Oklahoma (Big 12), Iowa State (Big 12), Boston College (ACC), Louisville twice (C-USA, now Big East), TCU (C-USA), and UTEP (MWC).

What has Notre Dame done over that same amount of time?

I'm no authority on Notre Shame, but I can tell you what they've done.
'96 8-3
'97 7-6 L to LSU in Indpndce Bowl 27-9
'98 9-3 L to Georgia Tech Gator Bowl 35-28
'99 5-7
'00 9-3 L to Oregon State Fiesta Bowl 41-9
'01 5-6
'02 10-3 L to NCState Gator Bowl 28-6
'03 5-7
'04 6-6 L to Oregon State Insight Bowl 38-21

Notre Dame is an Independent School. They play and have played some of the toughest schedules in the Country. Usual powerhouses are Michigan, USC. I would absolutely love to see Boise State on a Notre Dame like schedule. The Domers usually take on many big schools from big conferences such as the SEC, (Tenn, LSU), the Big XII (Tex, Oklahoma), Big X (Michigan, Michigan St, Penn St.), etc.

Tradition and History of football. Boise State, it would appear is off to a good start. Some other programs you may have heard of had great starts too....Army, Kal, SMU, Minnesota, Maryland and a whole slew of Ivy League schools. Where are they today? Boise State will go through its ups and downs, Div. Ia College Football is EXTREMELY competitive and to win consistently is VERY VERY difficult. To win consistently spanning decades is legendary. Oklahoma, Nebraska, Alabama, Notre Dame, Miami, USC are just a few schools that come to mind that have legendary histories of winning. Not saying Boise State can't get there, it takes a lot of time and a lot of winning....

BcS sucks. We will never know who the real champion is until we get rid of the BcS and instituted a real playoff system.;)
