See what fixed wing only folks cant seem to except is that once a helo is off the ground, flying is flying. We do instr approaches the same as in a plane. So why not count that time? That is my question.

The real answer to that is obvious, companies, and managers that dont except helo time, never flew a helo and just dont understand. Fairly simple.
That's all true enough but Virgin A is looking for more than just flying skills in the initial pilot group. They're looking for experience setting up airline operations and training programs. They need pilots that have done this sort of thing before.

How Bill is a RJ Captain, 5500TT, 2700 MEL, 2800 SEL, 2000 as a CFI, 1200 TJ PIC he is typed in the EMB-145 and the A-320. Bill can apply, Joe can not...
Those Chinamen get all the breaks and they are getting all our white women too. We're doomed!

Well hell, you wanna get stupid about requirements we could always talk about Airtran's 500 hours of 121 PIC requirement. I love it how they consider a 5000 hour guy with 2000 PIC in a G550 unqualified to pull gear in a 717. Not that he'd even want to go there, but it's the principal! :)

FN at least How is spelled correctly, should be Now. So much for spell checker. But it is funnier the way it is.

Payscale will be competitive with other low cost startups

In other words, the payscale will be pathetic. I'm sure they will not be hurting for desperate applicants.
