"NWA........Plans are to start recalling again in early 2006."

Really??? And that comes from where..........?

Comes from Crew Planning & Staffing's Bulletin for November 2005 Flying.

When recalls start at some of the other airlines what is the % that will actually take the recall. Seems like when CO started recalling it went VERY fast, is that just because CO has their stuff together? Or will there be a lot of people who will have gone to greener pastures?

Thanks

DAL is about half way thru recalling all of its fu'd pilots. Acceptance rate hovers around 50% total ... with extremes in any given month. Recent example: there are 10 recall slots for Aug 2005 and all 10 pilots either bypassed or took MLOA ... so a big jump down the seniority list happens.

There were / are 2 fu'd groups at DAL that totalled 1310 (or so) pilots. There is the FM I crowd (1060 pilots) who were fu'd "due to the lingering effects of 9-11." This furlough ran from from Nov 01 thru Jan 03. These pilots began to be recalled in June 04 based on a judge's ruling about equalling pre-9-11 RPM numbers. This recall rate was to be 30 per month until all were recalled by summer 06. The new PWA, signed last Nov 04, thru this out the window, and allowed DAL to recall at the needs of the company, until all are recalled by summer 2008, and there is no "no-furlough" clause. DAL has agreed to recall at least 100 pilots between June and Dec 2005. If so, there will be about 400 pilots still fu'd. The plug seniority number (the infamous Troy Kane) at DAL is 7326 as of 1 Jul 2005 ... he was about #10,200 when DAL quit hiring in summer 2001 ... PRIOR to 9-11.

Then there was the FM II crowd (250 pilots) who were fu'd at the on-set of Gulf War II, from Apr 03 to June 03 ... they were all quickly recalled by Oct 03 when Uncle Leo realized he had no leg to stand on and was about to get a judge's ruling crammed down his pencil neck.

Note: Uncle Leo had created the upper mgt SERP just before this furlough. He is now on a Pacific Island counting his $16M ... watching the code share flights.
