Anyone know any inside to Spirit as to what they are looking for to get a interview? I drove over to their headquarters and droped off a resume but my luck, the assistant director of ops was out.

As of now, being ex-TeenieWeenie is a good in. Other than that, having about three times the hours that your profile shows, plus some 121 PIC in a DC9 or A320, would be beneficial. Also, having a permanent address in either Ft. Liquordale or Detoilet is a big help. Having a friend on the inside also helps.

Good Luck,
enigma

PS, run a search, someone recently posted a fax number to use for sending resumes.

I'm not kidding here, but a Spirit Captain told me real recently that you need at least two DUI's to apply.

I don't know if he was joking or what...

FN FAL posted some statements on numerous occasions about Spirit that are both defamatory and libelous. I questioned him on it privately and he responded rudely. I tried to do the right thing and ask for a retraction of the nonsense he posted. He can only be rude.

To post comments that are defamatory and libelous can not only result in law suits against the poster, but cause damage to innocent people.

To the Moderators: I would like this post wiped out, along with all the others on which FN FAL has made such comments recently.

Below is the private message I sent FN FAL and the rude response.

Quite frankly, it is obvious that you have something against Spirit and its employees. The posts you made yesterday and earlier in the month containing the same false and damaging information are both defamatory and libelous. Please retract your posts and cease spreading such false information.

As I am sure I understand, spreading false rumors about a company and its employees that could unfairly damage the reputation of both the company and its employees in this day and age impacts the careers of many. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yea whatever.

MW44--Just what cracked you up???? I am furious here. A member of this board is accusing 400+ pilots of having DUI's. A member of this board is jeopardizing the future of thousands of employees. For what? Did FN FAL get rejected by Spririt? I can only think that is the reason for the libel and defamation.

Ok--you edited your post. I'm calming down now!

lostplntairman-

I don't know Fn fal or his intentions but it seemed to me like he was just trying his hand at a little comedy. I wouldn't take anything posted on an anonymous chatroom for pilots too personally. But maybe I'm missing something here.

He's posted it several times and always jumps in to ensure that Spirit pilots are portrayed negatively. Do a search. You'll see I'm right.

Lostairman-

Hey man I just took it as a joke. I don't know much about spirit or any spirit pilots for that matter. I think the guy was going for sarcasm but obviously you took him literally. Didn't mean to offend you there.

With all due respect, if it were meant as a joke, it would not have been repeated in multiple posts. If it were meant as a joke, the poster would have said so in the private message.

It's not a joke to this poster. The poster has an obvious agenda to bring about damage to Spirit and its employees. What the poster says is not true and is damaging to Spirit and its employees.

Again, to the Moderators, I would like this thread and all others with the same libelous and defamatory statements removed.

Hey lost try to calm down! I agree with you entirely but anyone who thinks an airline of Spirit's stature makes a habit of hiring drug users and drunks is a fool! Many of my former lear buddies work over there and we make the same comments some times in private conversations. This dialouge is a through back to the early days at Spirit. Anyone of above average inteligents will see fn fal as the idiot he is. So fn fal please stop the slander. OK dude!

I've been posting on this bbs for a long time. Matter of fact I've been posting here for two jobs prior to my Spirit tenure.

I used to use 8N as a name, but had to change when the bbs changed it's software some time ago.

With that said, I will say this. I stake my reputation as a bbs member on this. I know of NO pilot at Spirit with a (one, uno, single) DWI.

I hope that FN is just trying to be funny, but I don't know where he's coming from on the DWI stuff. I'm sure that Spirit has our "one percenter's" like all other carriers; but I've flown with a lot of pilots in my career who are now at (or furloughed from) major airlines. I'll stack the average Spirit pilot up against them, or anybody else.

I was hired by a an ex AirForce pilot who left the service and went to Braniff, then got hired by EAL. I was trained by a pilot who started out at PanAm, before there was a PanAm two. In fact, our core pilot group consists of pilots who's timing was not good. They (not me, I'm just a lucky/blessed part 91 corporate puke who got lucky) were pilots who had achieved the gold medal, they reached for the brass ring and grabbed ahold. It is not their fault that Midway, AirFLorida, Eastern, Braniff, TransWorld, etc let them down. These guys deserve better than Spirit. But that is only an indication of their quality as pilots and human beings.

regards to all, and let's save our venom for those that deserve it. Managers. Just kidding.

Not the most common reference.

Lighten up on FN. Spirit is the last of a long line of airlines toward which that line has been used. Ozark was one, Piedmont was another. It's a joke.

Besides, FN can drink any Spirit guy under the table any day! ;) TC

Spirit Airlines just announced it's new frequent flyer program:

Earn 100,000 miles, and you go up for a free drink with the crew.
