OK, in four years, while you're still throwing the gear, a Spirit Senior Capt.
will be making $26/hour more than a JB Capt.

No, it's not clear because you don't have any idea what a JB CA will be making in four years. I don't either. You also don't know whether or not I'll 'still be throwing gear'. The cheap shot does nothing to further your point. It makes you look petty.

You are right, it might not be an honest comparison because:

A. You might not have your 5 year personal contract renewed

Wrong. Our 5 year contracts renew in perpetuity. It's not optional. They automatically renew every 5 years. There are no exceptions. I can be fired for cause at any time (just like you) but barring that my PEA will automatically renew.

B. Your "Kool-Aid" compensation committee may lower your salary, or

Wrong again. They can't unilaterally lower my salary without my consent. I have to agree in writing to any change in my PEA.

C. You may be aquired by another airline and be "stapled" or out of work, as part-time or contract employee's may have no rights under the
"Bond-McCaskell" legislation.

Once again you are mistaken. I'm neither part time nor a contract employee. Nobody knows for sure what Bond-McCaskell really means because it hasn't been tested, but lawyers way smarter than you or I have looked at our PEA's and are convinced we are no more at risk than any other airline pilot.

Look, I'm not the one comparing Spirit to JetBlue. You are. If in order to ease your conscience about voting for this TA you need to tell yourself it will make you better off than a JetBlue pilot, knock yourself out. It may or it may not, but the logic you are trying to use in this thread is flawed.
 
Look Caveman, I'm not interested in you your opinion of the TA. I'm interested in learning about other contracts to compare and contrast, not to opine. And I was responding directly to johnsonrod who called me out, so I don't know why you are getting upset since you were not a part of my post.

Just for the record I haven't given my opinion of your TA (other than one tongue in cheek comment in my original post). I haven't read it, I don't get to vote on it, and I don't have to live with it so what I think is irrelevant.

I simply stated what my circumstances were at JetBlue. I took your quote above as an invitation to chime in. I'm not upset about anything, but I did comment to Kwick that his comparisons were not apples to apples. That did seem to upset him.

I'm referring to post #62 in this thread--I wasn't talking to you but to the other who weigned in with no invite. You responded to something else. I appreciate your input on your contract details which was requested. We have gotten more from others too. Thanks to all.

Congratulations to the Spirit pilots for a great example of unity. Now, if you could just get that one guy to quit adding "wilco" at the end of nearly every response to ATC.
 
Mach 80, I think he must be military because I had an FO that couldn't call the tower without saying Gear down and locked on a 757.

Question of the day: Those FOs are about to become what fairly soon? ... anyone? ... come on... anyone? I will save you the drama. Except for one they will all be CAs in 2011 some may be even in 2010 as long they get the rumored growth.

Guess who is interested in any kind of movement out of the group? The already CAs? Nope. The junior FOs? Nope. The mid FOs? Nope. The top senior FOs who had the upgrade denied for years. Bingo.
 
So over half the voters will be captains within the next two years and voted accordingly. Isn't that how it normally works. Remember, that is where you will be next.
