Congrats to Spirit, and the people of Providence. The "quiet company" is going to be more than a niche player in the next few years. They will be competing against n/s from B6 and Song to both FLL(2 flts per day), and RSW(1 ft per day). I don't know how many pax connected with WN, but I guess there could be some competition there also.

Low-Cost Airline Announces R.I.-Florida Routes
WARWICK, R.I. -- Another low-cost airline is expected to begin operations at Rhode Island's T.F. Green Airport in the fall.
Spirit Airlines announced its entry into the Providence market on Thursday. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based airline will begin nonstop jet service to several Florida cities, including Fort Lauderdale, on Oct. 28.
The airline currently serves 16 cities. It recently received permission to add 11 Caribbean destinations. Introductory fares to Florida will begin at $44 one-way if booked online. Spirit Airlines sees T.F. Green as its gateway to New England.
"It's proximity to Connecticut and Massachusetts make it a natural point for passengers to be going to," said Jacob Shorr, president of Spirit Airlines. Shorr said Spirit also considered Rhode Island's highway network and Amtrak connections when picking T.F. Green.
