I have decided that I would like to spend the next 20 years of my flying career with Spirit.
I am currently a Captain with a regional on the CRJ.
Any information on how to increase my chances of getting hired at Spirit would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Get your stuff in now. Hiring for the rest of this year and into next. Had a friend interview on Monday and was offered a class date for Aug 20 on the spot. They need pilots!

Downside...this whole base issue. I highly doubt that FLL will be the only base we have. The only question will be how many other bases are opened and what form they will take.

Then why in the world did they RAISE their mins to 5000TT??? I like to think I'm a fairly intelligent and saavy individual (no Einstein by any means), but for the life of me I CANNOT comprehend why airlines do this .. seem to only fully disregard the current market conditions (ie pilot supply DECREASING, demand INCREASING), but actually act counterintuitively!?!?!

I don't even want a job with Spirit- I was just reading this thread and thought I'd interject my observation.

In the word of Will Ferrell in "Zoolander": I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!

The regionals are having a pilot shortage. There are still more than enough qualified applicants that have been at the regionals for 5+ years and probably have greater than 5000TT.

Wait, commuted home yesterday morning...slept for 4 hours...woke up, dinner with the girlfriend...what was my flight number the other night? What day was yesterday?

Holy $hit! I brought a monkey back from LIM the other night! That explains why the forward lav had monkey pellets all over the place and smeared on the mirror when I came out over Panama!

The funniest part? The captain's favorite password is always "monkey".

Somehow he managed to avoid the eye of airline screeners at two airports.
Laura Uselding, a spokeswoman for the Transportation Security Administration, said that had the monkey been carrying weapons or explosives, an alarm would have triggered............

I feel so reassured............LOL

Brilliant...if they only made teeny-tiny guns that fit in monkey hands.

Laura U. reminds me of the TSA skit on Saturday Night Live..."you are the cream of the crop, you all have a high school diploma or an equivalent diploma"
