SPIRIT OFFERS 99-CENT SALE FARES (EACH WAY)
Already known for zany fare sales with tickets as low as $8 each way, Spirit Airlines appears to have lowered its bar even further. The carrier is now offering 99-cent fares during its "Mother of All Spirit Sales." Spirit is not offering the 99-cent fares on all routes, though they are valid on city pairs like Boston-Detroit, Fort Lauderdale-Kingston (Jamaica), Atlanta-Orlando and Atlantic City-Fort Myers. The special fares also are available only on a very limited set of dates and are good only as part of a round-trip ticket. Still, "Spirit's prices are some of the lowest I've ever seen," writes Jessica Labrencis of SmarterTravel.com. Besides the limited availability, there's another other catch. The 99-cent fares disappear tonight at 11:59 p.m. ET.
