Important Jumpseat Committee Update
Fellow Eagle Pilots:
As many of you are aware, our brothers and sisters at Spirit Airlines went on strike this morning. Many of those crewmembers will be dislocated and be looking to jumpseat. Spirit management is likely to remove their CASS status, so it is important to understand our company policy regarding jumpseating without CASS confirmation.
Our agents are trained to clear all jumpseaters through CASS. In the event that he/she cannot be cleared, the crewmember is allowed to ride in the cabin provided that they are on the approved airline list and have proper identification. The policy can be found in the following Sabre records:
- F*PSM/FDJ
- F*PSM/D6
Please take the time to check with the agent and check the standby list to see if a Spirit pilot is trying to get on. If an agent tells you that they cannot ride without clearing CASS, respectfully direct them to the above Sabre records and explain that the policy does allow them to ride in the cabin.
DO NOT allow any offline crewmember that has not cleared CASS to ride in the flight deck. In addition, the only crewmembers that can ride in the flight deck to/from Canada, Mexico, and any destination in the SJU system (other than the US Virgin Islands) is an Eagle or American pilot.
Please direct any questions to your LEC Jumpseat representative or to myself. I can be reached at xxx-xxx-xxxx.
Fly safe.
