I see on www.md80.net that Spirit is getting ready to do some serious hiring. The info came from their MEC comm chairman.

Thought someone might be interested.

I like their new A321s. I saw one in LGA and FLL, and it looked sharp!

What's the delivery schedule for the Airbuses. How many are you guys getting? Will the MD-80's be retired and replaced?

Their intent is to replace the MD's with the buses.

not really, I just made it up. I thought it was weird to have a md80.net so I started wondering if there was a 737.net? More of my humor that nobody gets.

Well, I just finished reading the owners official request for concessions. He told the MEC Chair last month that he would shut the place down if he didn't get his concessions. The MEC communications chairman knows this, so I'm not sure why he would post anything about hiring.

That's all folks,
enigma

PS. We, the lowest paid narrowbody pilots in the industry, are not in any mood to give any concessions. My informal polls show that about 90% of us would rather just find another career.

You should stop listening to those voices inside your head.

Just kidding of course.

SWA/FO,

Found it by accident. It's run by a non-pilot magazine editor in Iceland who started it as a project to see how the internet worked. People liked it so he has kept it going. It's all MD80's...all the time...little of this...little of that. Seems to be mostly non-US posting but can't tell for sure.

If one has any MD80 questions, someone on there will know the answer. Some of the posters know the whereabouts of every MD80 airframe on the planet. Interesting stuff.
