Wow. This post could have been written by an AirTran guy. Cudos to you guys for at least taking the first step towards a release. All the best.
Looks like instead of a contract, we're going to end up with a stack of LOA's. (Think Dumb and Dumber, Jim Carey..."Those...are as good as a contract. Those are LOA's!)

And don't worry about the comment from HappyMeal or Mcnugget or whatever his name is. If he's the "will fly for food" type, then he's the reason we get run over by management throughout this industry. Because they know there's always some young idiot out there dying to tell his friends he's a big jet pilot.
If we don't stand up and protect our contracts, these guys are going to get a big surprise when they finally land that "dream job" they've been wishing for.

Instead of getting worked up over the "willflyforfood" pilots, maybe you should start a national union instead of an alliance of local unions. Until pilots have a national union and seniority list, those pilots like yourself who want someone to stand up to management accomplish nothing more than securing jobs for the airlines that are left when the management who was stood up shuts down.

I'd be happy to "shut er down" if I was guaranteed a like seniority job at a comparable carrier. Under todays rules, I participate in a "shut er down" walkout and am repayed by the pilots at a competitive airline with nothing more that an attaboy.

Sorry peeps, but I'm not going to "shut er down" just so that the pilots at AA,B6,F9,HP, etc can keep a job.

No strike for me.

At least somebody gets it.

A pilot group strike?? Don't be ridiculous!! There are just way too many of us for way too few jobs. No one has the balls!!! I hope I am wrong and the Spirit people STFD!! And bring the management pukes to their knees, maybe kick them in the face while their down there for good measure! It's high time management does some suffering for all the suffering we have endured at their expense for the past 8 years!

Amazing.....Common sense....I wonder if there is any in Herndon?

Easy to "draw a line in the sand" with someone elses job.....How many of you wanting the Spirit folks to draw that line are willing to negotiate DOH hiring at your carrier?

A real union would secure DOH positions at other carriers if they drew a line in the sand...This loose association will send Kit Darby to blow sunshine up their A$$......

There's plenty of common sense in Herndon. Just look at the latest idea that the BOD will be voting on- subjecting your 401(k) contribution to taxation, oops I mean "dues". Voting begins July 28....

Is ALPA still considering having our dues taken out of our pre-tax income? This is the first I have heard that they are considering taking dues out of our 401(k) contribution.
