Well Angus it wasnt a tit for tat. It was just me clarifying who SWAPA attained. It just took him a few times to understand. I couldnt careless who the lawyers are. Just giving the facts.

Seriously...??

I hope to god that most of you are simply Riddle Students sitting in the dorm having fun on the computer..... because IF you are actually Pilots at SWA or anywhere else for that matter.... you should be absolutely ashamed at how PATHETIC, RIDICULOUS, PETTY and JUVENILE you appear on this thread alone.

Arguing tit for tat about Attorneys? Are you serious? How old are you people?

I hope and pray you don't fly airplanes for a living... because reading and watching all this trite bull********************.... gives incredible insight to your mental immaturity.

Go out, get laid.... and get a life. GROW up.... start acting like PROFESSIONALS for god's sake. You're an embarrassment to Airline Pilots....

You think this is bad, wait until you get to converse with the hating PPrune crowd.

Its amazing that a good article comes out and it breaks down into the same pissing match over and over again. All of you give it a rest, you have no say, get over it.

I totally agree with the sentiment, but the last bit isn't totally true. The SWAPA constitution guarantees a vote in the unlikely event of a negotiated agreement. Unconfirmed rumor is that AirTran is headed in the same direction. IMHO good stuff for all involved.

It may end up in an arbitrator's hands (I hear it will be 3 - also good), but the best result would be one crafted and ratified by pilots with skin in the game. SLI specifics may be very important to us as individuals, but an agreement we can all live with is critical to our collective future.

Both the ATN MEC and SWAPA have very experienced merger attorneys. The SWAPA guys have Jeff Freund, and at ATN we have Dan Katz. Both attorneys have been involved in just about every major airline SLI in the past 30+ years. Both have great records. Of course, at ATN, we have far more resources than just Mr. Katz, though. We also have all of the attorneys at ALPA, plus attorneys at ALPA's outside counsel, including Mike Abram, who is one of the most highly respected labor attorneys in the business, quite skilled at dealing with merger and transition issues. I don't think any of us are worried about our legal representation.

Three pages on who's lawyer can beat up who's lawyer and you think this is going to be settled by a few pilots with skin in the game?????

Get real, you can barely get pilots to agree when they are getting a new contract with a raise, let alone a SLI agreement that to be deemed "fair" will make all mad in some fashion.

Sorry AT guys, but you're going to need a lot more than 'Cry Baby Katz' to make your case that the lottery you just won has no meaning whatsoever!

PCL, you talk as if Fruend is the only asset we have, versus your arsenal of talent from ALPA national. First, we have a number of guys with plenty of experience in ALPA merger policy. That's because people from numerous ALPA airlines came to SWA for our superior pay, QOL, benefits, job security, etc.

Also, with the rate at which you are spending ALPA money versus bringing money in, I imagine there is a limit to what they are willing to throw at the 'low hanging fruit' that many other ALPA groups have had to contend with as you led the race to the bottom.

Another Pulitzer Prize post....

Yeah... take THAT AirTran guys. You all suck, and the merger sucks, and your attorney sucks... and you suck... and.... and.... yeah.

And its a "not a merger"... and "come take it".... you hit the "lottery".... and Katz is a "crybaby"... and.... and.... yeah.

Yeah... "I am rubber and you are glue" ... and... and.... yeah.

Wow... seriously??

Another one of the SWA "prize" Pilots posts again??

SWA, their paying passengers, and ALL Airline Pilots in the industry should read your rants... and be so proud.

Grow up.... no really - act like you are over the age of 12.... and one of the worlds highest paid elite Professional Pilots.

PLEASE BE A PRO AND GROW UP....

It's FI- any lurkers- do the math 7800 total pilots-

How many names do you see here going at it?

You can choose to take the exchanges you see here and place some relevance on it - take it to the flight deck and talk about it with the other pilot- get each other riled up bc the 1%ers are going nuts here- making stuff up-

The party Swapa threw is the truth- the party SWA will throw will be seriously fun- don't take this vibe to your job and infect your side- it'll work out how it works out- we both have hired and elected good people to represent us- thats their job-for lineholders our job is to make the merger a success, win passengers so mgmt can grow this airline so there's so much movement everyone will forget about any SLI issues.

As one of my chiefs put it to his other 4 digit friend- he'd trade the last 20 years for the next 20 if he could

ALPA Merger Policy doesn't really apply here, so I'm not sure what your point is on that. I was discussing resources, not ALPA Merger Policy. I'm sure SWAPA has far more assets than just Mr. Freund. Both pilot groups are well represented. Why is everything a contest with some of you guys? Can't you just admit that both sides have highly qualified legal counsel, and whether this gets resolved in negotiations or arbitration, then both groups will have been well represented?

We have plenty of money set aside for this merger. Not really an issue.
