I was driving back from Vegas last night and I passed a car in which someone was on the cell phone. I was able to lipread part of the conversation and it appears that they were talking about this rumor and I can confirm that it is indeed true.
Sad thing is someone on here will take this joke and be like " yeah i have a buddy that over heard a manager talking on his phone, its true"

New SKYW payscales include E170/E175 on them. But I'm sure that is old news now.

Well there you have it...I guess your the only airline with pay rates for an aircraft you don't have on property. (sarcasm)

Southwest has to do something before SkyWest slowly takes over the world. jk. This is the funniest rumor on FI.com in quite awhile.

As big a hard-on as everyone seems to have about SWA, about the only thing their investors can high-five each other on is an occasional slutty-looking babe with killer legs getting on a flight for a minute or two. Oh, and a funny PA every now an then.

But other than that, ZIP.

Nothing lasts forever. And while folks can do rain-dances about profitable quarters, that means squat when a stock continues in the $hitter.

But...I gotta admit...I do sleaze around for their 89 buck fares, thats for sure....might as well....

Skynation....

Skynation told me about that one.... Since he happened to be the turd floating closest to the surface of the punch bowl at that particular moment, I believed everything he had to say!

That's not ridiculous. Southwest wanted Skywest to fly the E170 and maybe the E190 and Jerry said no. He didn't want another aircraft type. Also there was disagreement over fuel. This is a true.

As far as Southwest buying Skywest....that's FUBAR!

Hmm I guess that's why the current pay proposal includes a (laughable) payscale for E170/175s...
