For anyone overnighting in LAS on Wed and Thursday night, they are having crew appreciation night. GK and company will be at the overnight hotel (I'm not gonna say which one). It's crew appreciation night on Wed and Thurs.

I wouldn't hold my breath...GK told some CPs the other day he will NOT be making any such announcement at the LAS Spirit Party despite what the rumor mill says. Of course we'll see.........

To be announced next week. Regional Chief Pilot in MDW Flight Ops base this morning. Wouldn't disclose where, only that the company is to announce it next week.

Notice that this is nearly a month old. The rumor mill runs rampant at SWA - I've heard just about everything you can imagine.

LOL - Exactly my point. I wouldn't bet money on anything SWA does (remember PHL?), and I wouldn't be surprised at all if we don't announce a new crew base until at least a year from now.

I did hear though, from a mechanic whos girlfriends sisters friend knows a guy who dates someone whos Mom was in DAL last week that we are firing all male flight attendants and going back to hot pants with bikinis optional from May till November. This is a reliable source, you heard it here first.

"I’ve been on the road quite a bit every week and have had the pleasure of spending some time with many of our Crew Members. I’ve heard a number of rumors regarding a new crew base and, in fact, heard that many of our Employees are planning on attending the Spirit Party in Las Vegas next week with the expectation that we will be making an announcement. So, let me tell you, let me put those rumors to bed. We will not have any announcement in Las Vegas about a crew base next week. We are
looking at a handful of potential locations for a new base for 2007 but have not made any final proposals or decisions on that at this point and it’s going to be a while, I think, before our various Departments complete their analysis and make a proposal. So we might have an announcement later this fall, but it certainly won’t be next week."​

We have only been negotiating for a week or so.

A friend of mine who interviewed a couple weeks ago was told at the interview that it was between Denver and Tampa. Vegas was out of the question because office space at KLAS is very expensive. It's cheaper to put 20 crews up a night in hotels than it would be to have a base there.
