Southwest Hiring update from Rebekah

I am in class at HPA and Rebekah Krone from SWA Pilot Recruitment came in today to talk to us. She said some things will change due to the fast changing times at SWA. If everyone at SWA is like Rebekah I cant wait to get there. She was on of the nicest, most polite, knowledgeable, and friendly persons that I have met in the Airlines. I can not wait to get on at SWA.

Here is what she said ( she did say some of this stuff may change)

400 new hires this year (includes the 180 or so in the pool. They are not quite sure how many have went to other places out of the pool at this time...So at the very worst it will be 220 new hires from the interviews starting in March).

1100 pilots over the next 3 years, 6000!!!!! new hires by 2012.

Classes will run from March to July, 2 classes a month.

Interview process has changed:

1. New questions
2. They are working to start a line oriented interview dealing with
scenarios
3. But it will be the same enjoyable SWA interview (cant wait!!!)

That is basically it. She said things are subject to change and things will be pretty busy at SWA for quite a while.

Once again, I am truly excited to even have the chance to Interview at SWA, and to work with people such as Rebekah. I can truly say that this will be my last airline.
