I hope we go with the Phenom 300 for our next light jet. I know that they weren't chosen before because of mx support concerns, but Embraer has been opening service centers and getting lots of independent mx centers certified to work on their products. I have flown Lears and Citations and the only advantage to the Citation is the short field performance. They break all the time and they are just not made to take the rigors of flying more than a few hundred hours per year. From what I understand the Embraer was made for the fractionals to be more reliable and it is supposed to have pretty awesome performance for a light jet. I thought the EMB-145 was way too brittle when I flew it before, but it was a tank compared to the Cessna products.

For once I have to agree with JonJuan, even though it is another swipe at NetJets. The Ultras are freakin' old and need to be retired yesterday. They did their job well to build the company, but their time has come and gone. If NetJets wants to be the best, it needs to do better than 10000 hour+ Ultras.

Am I missing something, the Ultras have been in disposal for some time now.

Yes, they are in disposal, but they should be gone. There are still around 30 on property. They are concentrating on selling airframes from the other fleets. I believe we will still have Ultras in our fleet for another 2 or 3 years at least. That is not providing the best.

Why can't people just accept the fact that, even today, we are still a good place to work and that most of us are still happy. Flex, flops, shares (air), xo, avantair.. All have just as good pilots as us.. You chose those places while we chose nj. The shoe can be on the other foot in a heartbeat. Why the hell can't we all just hope to make it through this and recall all of our pilots in the near future. To hell with what some jealous airline dude (general lee) says or thinks. Many of us have worked for the airlines and have actually lived both sides. I take it lee has only lived the airline side. That's too bad..

Spot on.

Hung

seven days gone at a stretch took some getting used to,but NJA rocked, and apparently still rocks, as a place to hang ones aerial hat.

You are correct they will be with us for at least three more years. They still fill a role in Marquis flights and for those owners that still need a light jet for short trips that can carry the groceries. There will always be a need for entry level jets in the company.

Not to mention that most of them have been repainted and interiors redone (most not all, so save the sharpshooting) so they are still very serviceable aircraft and are fine for the mission they're doing.

I could easily see it stretched to five years more service depending on the economy and fleet appropriation.

So your point is what?

Money doesn't matter? I don't have time to go to the restaurant IN THE FBO? I suffered so now I'm entitled?

How can you possibly justify a crew meal in KLAS when the restaurant is inside the FBO? Let's see, you can order a turkey sandwich crew meal to be delivered 2 hours before you land and let it sit around (maybe in a fridge, maybe not), or you can order a FRESH sandwich at the restaurant and eat it hot.

One costs $50 and one costs $6. One is fresh and the other sat around for God knows how long.

You do realize you are arguing for the side that wants the $50, sat around meal verses the $6 fresh meal right?

The same question could be asked of you. "What is your point"?? You are talking about a FBO that most NJA guys have only been to a hand full of times, hell I have been flying biz jets in and out of LAS for close to 20 yrs now and didn't even know there was a restaurant there.

I would love to stop and get a fresh sandwich, however most days I don't have the time to stop and have a real meal. Thank god the catering in LAS is ok.

No more restaurant there anyway... It was closed down last weekend I think.
