Good post, but I think no matter what you say he wont listen. This guy is a netjet hater who will say whatever he can to try to make nja look bad. I feel sorry for him and the others.

Hey, lighten up Francis. I'm no NetJet hater. I have friends there and want us all to do well. Go ahead and get the $50 crew meal. I have a different opinion on what's right and vocalized that here on a public forum. Doesn't quite qualify me for Hittler status does it?

Glass,

We do not get time off to go get something to eat.

You have to order your crewfood the night before. And no matter wht they tell you the schedule for tomorrow will be ... it more often than not bears little resemblance to what you actually end up doing.

You get all your meals for the day before your first trip and carry it with you. You can consume them enroute or in an FBO at one of your stops if you have time.

If you have standby at the FBO ... you may not leave to get something to eat. You have to be ready to depart quickly for pop up trip.

The reason we have crew food is because pop up trips came so often ... people went without food. You were told you had 3 hrs on the ground at one of your stops and you could get something then. But as soon as you landed the 3 hrs turned into 30 minutes and you had nothing to eat.

BYW I'm still pissed that it was reduced to 2 meals a day.. Not looking forward to that if we ever get the chance to get back.

Despite what the "Black Helicopter" conspiracy theorists think, that WASN'T a company decision. That was straight from the IRS. And frankly, it was a correct ruling on their part (go figure). You can still order four meals (only three in our case) but you will pay taxes on the per diem for that day.

As for being overly dramatic, it was just to make a point that Gunfyter subsequently made in better fashion.

And Glass, where do you KEEP getting this $50 number? It's nowhere close to that.

Whatever, I notice a trend not just on this thread. Never said you were hitler, just said you hate nja. Who cares about the crew meals, they are making money again and people are still ordering them.

Glass,

We do not get time off to go get something to eat. You do if you request it. If your crew food didn't show up for some reason, or if it was not edible. y al means tell scheduling your heading out for a bite.

You get all your meals for the day before your first trip and carry it with you. Sometimes. But sometimes I wanted something from a better location. If things changed, I called ops and informed them I'd be needing a meal pronto at the next stop. Generally I'd carry some meals throughout the day, but not always.

If you have standby at the FBO ... you may not leave to get something to eat. You have to be ready to depart quickly for pop up trip. again, I'd advise that if there is no crewfood availible, you are allowed to go get something. All it takes is telling ops that your hungry and need something to eat.

I know you know all of this, but it sounds as if your schedulings bitch. Which your not and shouldn't be. Hungry, eat. If you want a hot meal, tell scheduling you need a few extra minutes to have a sit down heated meal at the FBO. (Falcon is obviously a different animal with the microwave.) Have owner services inform pax if need be.

again there was a time I'd be willing to forego meals, fly hungry/tired if it was required to get the job done...Needless to say, not anymore. (well upon my return anyway).

I have never had a problem leaving the fbo while on just standby. A quick call to the palace asking if I can leave for a few minutes has always resulted in them telling me ok. Hot spare or tntv? Yeah that's a different story. Then again, I am not one of those morons who is going to drive 30 minutes away and have a sit down meal.

agreed, Don't mind me I'm disgruntled:D

I don't care what "trend" you think you noticed. I don't hate NetJets. I meet the guys on the road and haven't had anything but positive encounters.

NetJets wants to pay a huge premium to ensure there is food to guard against the chance of changing trips then fine.

I do not have that benifit at my operation. I also do not have the problem of not being able to find food. If the sched is tight I order a crew meal unless I k ow there is food for me there. Sometimes I call ahead to the FBO and ask. In extreme cases I've even used the sat phone inflight to arrange a pizza to be delivered at our arrival time.

Maybe they aren't $50. They have to be more than what I pay though.

Regardless, this is a discussion that is for the most part civil. I will not stand for being labeled NetJet Hater because it's not true.

You take little shots here and there, you never come right out and say it but its obvious and tired. You are a hater. Deal with it. Now, I'm off to costa rica for some surfing and r and r. Peace out.

Okay, you win. NetJets sux.

I don't think you are a hater, actually I could care less. I just think you love to post about things that you don't know about, or have any experience with. This crew food thing is a perfect example, you don't know our schedules and you don't fly for us. Just because you work for Avantair doesn't make you an authority on NJA. I won't pretend to know how you guys work, why must you lecture us on what you think we should do as NJA pilots. Guess I don't understand.
