DING DING DING! We have a winner!

Wait, that's FOM, not contract. I like your thinking though!

Six months from when? They haven't even decided on what aircraft to buy.

It must suck to be out of the loop.

A man working outside feels more like a man if he can have a bottle of suds, that's only my opinion .... sir. It's worth striking over!

What is "The Shawshank Redemption?" One of the greatest movies of all times.

Where are the jets then?

A friend of a friend of a friend of a chief pilot said there were 5 crj700's already in NW paint in Montreal. But of course, no tail numbers to give it away just yet. My $ is on XJ. That was the plan all along.

So Bombardier built 5 aircraft off the record without an official order to a bankrupt carrier, I think their stock holders would like to hear about that. If they do exist, they will be going to compass for a while. To top it off it looks like the FA's at mainline are already saying no to the new TA.

Just like mainline piliots said no?

Who says NWA has to purchase them? Ever heard of ILFC, GECAS, or Wells Fargo? NWA doesn't own a single CRJ. They are all owned by ILFC or Wells Fargo and leased by NWA. NWA then subleases them to Pinnacle and Mesaba at inflated rates. NWA doesn't have to disclose anything to shareholders until an official agreement is reached between themselves and the leasing company, which would have to be approved by the BK judge, of course.

To know how long the waiting list for an EMB product really is, you'd have to know how many delivery slots that the leasing companies have coming up compared to how many deliveries all of the airlines have scheduled from them.

The base primer for the CRJ paint is similar to NWA silver, somebody probably saw this and thought they were NWA airplanes.

On that, you and I agree. I don't think there are any Bombardier products coming to NWA anytime soon. Now, Embraer products.....

Alright I got an anwser, the purchase agreements were postponed till sometime in august if the flight attendants ratify their deal and the pension bill is passed. These aircraft are for compass airlines, they have to ramp that airline up first before they probably sell it.

I'm surprised you could get Doug'y on the phone so fast.

Keep guessing.

You're forgetting who you're talking to. YPF. Not only does he have Doug's home number, he's on his deck right now having top sirloins on the company credit card.

When we see the first Embraer in NWA color on airliners.com, all our questions will be answered.

Every question except: Who will be flying them for 50 seat pay?

For the sake of the friends I have at XJ, I hoped I were wrong. I sincerely hope all that are effected find ways to manage. That said, there will be no negotiating. Look at the facts. They weren't negotiating when they DIDN'T hold all the cards. They do now. There is little to do but guess how low they will go.
IF we had to come up with a new contract, why can't we throw in some non-monetary items as improvements. I don't want concessions, but IF they are coming, can't we get something in return? Couldn't we get things like a seat on the board? Firm up some contract oversights in reserve scheduling

You can't because they don't have to. The judge gave them a ticket to set terms. Peroid. No rebuttal. No improvements on anything.

My guess:
9 day off min
20-25% pay cut across board
No 401k funding
reduced (more) health coverage
increased health premiums
PBS
No min day
No reserve peroids
Seat locks across board

You'd think he could afford something better than sirloin with all of the bucks he's making. Maybe filet or a nice ribeye.

Why bother showing up for that?

I agree that there will be emb products at Nwa, but I am willing to bet a lot of money that the CRJ 700 will be there as well. Who knows who will fly it, but I bet it will be there. Take a look at all the new gates that just went up at DTW, they are all configured for the CRJ 700

The way I understand is the max paycut is 19.4, what they asked for in the 1113c. I don't believe it gives them the right to impose whatever they want. Heck if that was the case why not go for 50%. I could be wrong though.

I'll take that bet. How's $100 sound?

My friend, those CR7 lines have been painted on various gates for almost as long as I've worked here. They mean nothing.

Actually they do mean something, just not what people think. DCI uses the same concourses we do in DTW, the lines were painted there for the DCI CR7's. DL planned to get additional gates in DTW before the BK.

Not quite. We had CR7 lines painted on some B-councourse gates several years ago before the code-share when Delta hadn't even considered moving over from the Smith Terminal to McNamara. I really don't know why they painted them there, but some of them have been there for at least 3 years that I can remember. Maybe a bit longer.

What's funny is if they continue this trend they are going to miss out on revenue opportunities because there is a lack of staff.

Not only that but if they are using 320 and 9's to cover we (XJ 9E or whoever) run the risk of being accused of stealing mainline flying. True or not who cares, just plain shotty all the way around.

If they truly want to negotiate (ha!), then I they should be able to afford non-monetary items.

How about a required level of staffing per block-hour? No more gutting the ranks and then JMing their way through the month. If they argue that that is a monetary item, then they admit they are trying to short-staff.

So many pilots per block hour. What it boils down to is more transparency, I suppose.
