Boss has slept in every state but ND, SD and MT. She's gonna fix that next week. Badlands and Rushmore take care of SD, a friends 90,000 acre ranch takes care of MT but we have no clue what to do in ND. Ideas?? Couple of kids along (12 & 14).
Thanks
Devil's Lake is full of Walleyes and Broadway in Fargo isn't bad for nightlife.
Other than that, the only thing to do is listen to the locals say "at least we're not Canada."![]()
I'm from SOUTH Dakota, so I had to throw in a little dig on the lesser Dakota.![]()
Medora ( www.medorand.com ) has a lot of family stuff to do if there are kids. It's in the SW on the S side of the Roosevelt Natl Park (S Unit). KDIK would probably be the best airport. Lake Sakakewea in the center of the State has lots of places to fish and waterski. There's a giant cow somewhere on I-94 between Bismarck and Dickinson. On Hwy 85 south of Amidon, there's an old stove with the door open. The sign says "open range". Lots of rodeos and county fairs all over the State. Abandoned missile silos in the NE and N Central part. Devils Lake is nice.
What can I say, ND was never billed as an ultimate tourist destination. It is what you make it and I've always liked ND.
90,000 acres sounds like the flying W ranch..
Until a couple of years ago, I had never been to SD, ND, and AK. When I finally went ot ND for a family wedding, a local gave me a description relative to its flatness. "Your dog can run away and you can still see him two days later."
