dieterly- Bush victory, mid-term election victory, GOP back in the California's Governor mansion and a clear 2004 GOP victory in sight!! God it must be tough to be a liberal- constantly tasting defeat!
BTW, what a great field of Democratic hopefuls!! I don't think I have seen a more pathetic bunch- of course our enemies are pulling for a Democrat victory!

In his own 24-page essay in the book, as reported Wednesday by the New York Post, Cuomo said that one reason the Democrats lost in 2002 is that "we fumbled the seminal moment of our lives _ the terrorist attacks of 9-11."

While President Bush "exemplified leadership at a time when America was desperate for a leader ... on the Democratic side there was chaos," Cuomo wrote.

"We handled 9-11 like it was a debate over a highway bill instead of a matter of people's lives," he added.

"People wanted leadership and they didn't get it from the Democrats," Cuomo told the AP.

Candidate Cuomo felt the sting of 9-11 backlash himself when, in April of last year, he dismissed Pataki as simply a coat-holder for then-Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

"He held the leader's coat. He was a great assistant to the leader, but he was not a leader," Cuomo had said during a campaign bus ride across the state. Within days, Cuomo's poll numbers fell.
