I heard 50 bypass pilots took the recall. Does anyone know if all 50 of them will accomodated in the August 2nd class? Also, any guess how how big the August 16th class will be? I have heard 2 classes of 30 per momth and I have also heard 2 classes or 40-50 per month. Anyone in the know heard anything official on class size #. Thanks!!

If you guys don't knock it off with the language, I'm gonna start putting you in the penalty box.

Simma down... simma...

The Aug 2nd and 16th class will have the recalls in it so they are here for the Sept AE. They said 30 per class and two per month until they hit 305 or they opt to go above that.

We could only hope Lear.
Heh heh... well, you know what they say: Be careful what you wish for. ;)

Better management team? Well, one that doesn't still live by the ex-Eastern Airlines mentality, for certain. However, you'd trade that for (likely) permanent F/O status for a large percentage of our pilot group.

Personally, I think I'd enjoy working for Delta if they purchased/merged with us, simply for the options of bases, equipment, and trips (international eventually if you wanted) and likely higher pay when they negotiate their next contract. But I know a lot of our guys wouldn't like the idea, and Delta still has a lot of work to do integrating the NWA employees (the F/A's are p.o.'d, too... have a few F/A friends and there's some real angst going on between those two groups).

No need to throw gas on the fire, was just an attempt at ADULT humor in an otherwise Sophomoric thread... ;)

Lear,

Are you sure you want to think this statement over? If I was an F/O at Airtran, I'd be pushing senior Captain's down the stairs trying to move up because upgrades aren't coming from attrition and probably not from new jets.

Delta's Captains are pushing 60 and yours are pushing 41. I think the right seat is a bad place to be at AT.

Just my adult thought for the day.....

Nah, upgrades at AAI will still be quicker than at DAL for people already on the seniority list.

My seniority would be about +/-200 numbers from upgrade, and I would just have celebrated my 4th year hire date anniversary. New hires today? Different story...

I'll bet you that AAI certainly *WILL* start taking delivery of new aircraft as soon as negotiations are over, and not just trading them out for older airframes. The 717's aren't scheduled to start going away for several more years... It won't be a HUGE upgrade rush like it was in 2004-2006, but it'll be steady for the next 3-4 years.

Any takers? :)
