i always knew the DC-3 was a tough hunk of metal. A real bullet-proof "ain't gonna keep me down" kind of plane. but i had no idea just how much so after reading this. I forgot about the article printed in 'Air & Space' long ago.

i like the part about it costs the same to hang overhauled radials on this thing as it does to hang engines on a Baron. but unfortunately you shut one down every 500 hours.

always wanted to make a motorcycle out of a single cylinder from an R-1830.....*whump.....whump......whump...*

A true statment, if you can taxi the airplane (in a strong crosswind) you can fly it no problem.

Nothing like flying the round engines, and not the kind that suck and blow.

I wonder if the 3 will make 100 years?
