It didn't take long, looks like Orlando is going to opt out of using TSA...

http://wdbo.com/localnews/2010/11/sanford-airport-to-opt-out-of.html
Unfortunately, that doesn't solve much:

"The TSA points out that even if an airport decides to use a private firm for security, the screeners still must follow TSA guidelines. That would include using enhanced pat-downs and the full-body scanners if they are installed at the airport."

So the molestation is just being outsourced.

I have a co-worker who declines the scanner, accepts the "freedom grope" and then starts moaning like Sally in "When Harry met Sally." It's a guy. The last time he did it the "additional screening" ended in about 3.2 seconds.

It's stupid to subject us to this nonsense. Why would we need to bring a weapon on board if we were determined to bring the plane down? We are flying the damned thing. All we would have to do is fly into the ground!

Isn't it a bit risky these days to make a statement that testifies to your possession of common sense? You might have to answer questions about your psychological state at your next FAA med exam.

You're right. How stupid of me! Hence my moniker.

That's actually happened before on an Egyptian flight. The copilot wanted to commit suicide. He was heard screaming Allahu Hakbar as they were going down....

If you get the new style pat down, call in sick after you're assaulted by some SMURF.
Bingo.

I'm just a contract pilot so I don't get a sick policy...but if selected for the porn-o-matic, I'm opting out. If told I'll be molested, I'll grab my belongings and head to the car. I don't need paid that badly.

If you have a sick policy, absolutely use it. I know I'd be mentally unfit to fly after someone sexually assaulted me.

I got a feeling that if any one of us actually does this...it will be a clear case of "When keeping it real goes wrong"

Now having said that...I go to work now and have people touching my genitals...but at least I'm paid well for it!
