AAS Electronics Engineering Technology from Community College of Southern Nevada

BS Professional Aeronautics from ERAU

Doing preliminary work on an MA or MS in Japanese Linguistics or Asian Studies from UNLV or UCLA.

The electronics background at least got me some good-paying jobs over the years. The aeronautics degree turned out to be both toxic and worthless. And the planned graduate degree will not generate much of an income either. But that's the field I love these days in addition to movie/television production engineering and aviation.

Gotta study what moves ya.

B.S. Physics
B.S. Computer Science

Both from the *real* UT - not some school in Tennessee. :D

I majored in Watching-the-horns-get-their-a$ses-kicked-ology at the University of Oklahoma!

Get the finance degree, an aviation degree is completely worthless.

That's very interesting, how did music pay for flying? AN what instrument do you play?

I was a professional musician and teacher while I was learning to fly. I paid for my lessons as I went. My musician salary is what paid for my flying lessons.

I play the oboe - ever heard of it?

Nuclear Engineering. Just think of the advantage when we start using nuclear reactors to power aircraft!

oh yeah, now I remember you talking about what you used to work. Never heard of that, what is it?

We used to tune to the oboe in the various symphony orchestras I played in growing up. Oboe is a great instrument when played well, but a TERRIBLE instrument when played poorly!

I am a senior going off to college this fall. I am getting a head start and trying to figure out what I want to major in. I dont know if I should Major in aviation and minor in like finance or Major in Finance (or something else, not sure yet) and minor in aviation. Majoring in flying a plane really wont get me far if for some reason I cant fly. I want a good backup if for some reason I can't fly. I also know that I dont want to have a major and hate it for 4 years and not want to do it...
So I am just trying to get some ideas on what others have done and see if I can figure something out!
Thanks for the info

I majored in minors. So far, the authorities haven't caught up to me.

Oops,

C
