I dont think thats right, when jetBlue started in Fort Lauderdale, terminal one, the only terminal with a gate B6, was under construction. I flew on them in 2000 and left out of what is now terminal 4, and at the time was terminal 3. It only has one pier.

On the other hand, if I remember correctly, jetBlue flies out of terminal 6 in JFK. That might have more to do with it.
