from the west......JVL VEENA

if going to PWK..from the west its RFD (V100) KRENA OBK
from the south JOT then you'll get vectors to OBK
from the east file to DEERE OBK
north.....file VEENA OBK
 
It's not just in north Florida. Miami loves to slam you too. I have been given cross heatt at 16000 when 40 miles north descending through 42000 in the Lear. Lucky we were empty that time and it made for a fun ride down. They did it again the next week but we had the boss in back and said no thanks.
 
I get it all the time into SRQ

it is typically 45 N of LAL at FL140. I always program it after GNV and where I get 20 miles from TOD I call JAX and ask if I am getting a crossing altitude which is always answered with an affirmative. VNAV, sit back and watch the scenery.

Some 15+ years ago a Learjet was held up at altitude after the crew had repeatedly requested lower. Then, the controller issued a crossing restriction to them. The conversation went something like this.

"Learjet 123LJ, decend to cross XYZ intersection at 6,000 feet and 250 knots."

"123LJ is unable"

"C'mon, you have speed-brakes don't you?"

"They're called spoilers and they are for our mistakes, not yours...."
