Obama is a good candidate that happens to be a black man. This is a contrast to the other "black" candidates in the past.

I was inclined not to support him, until I learned more about his positions. His health care plan is conservative and on economic issues he is actually more conservative than Romney's example set in Massachusetts - where government was expanded, Medicaid increased, taxes raised by the loss of the personal exemption by opting out and costs shifted to younger Americans who do not use the government program.



Yes. Would you rather be struck by a hit and run driver with no insurance, or a licensed and insured driver? My wife's new car was hit last week by a newer black full sized truck, with no tag and "Rodriquez" on the back window. I would prefer that the driver had not fled the scene.

It concerns me greatly that our Federal Government has failed in it's basic duty to secure our border. This is a responsibility of the Executive Branch and Lord knows Bush has gotten plenty of funding for military efforts in other parts of the World. When the Mexican Police and Military make armed incursions across our border both in support of and in engagement with organized crime it is an act of WAR and should be responded to accordingly. Not with rhetoric, or free economic agreements - Bush has utterly failed on this very basic security obligation.

Now that we have millions of "undocumented" aliens in this Country, we have to go on the task of documenting them. Having fake ID, or Consular Matricular registrations, with no reliable database is just an invitation to engage in crimes from tax aviodance and hit and run driving all the way to money laundering billions and murder.

What I like about Obama is that he is pragmatic.

Have the Courts been unfair? If you look at the results the answer is yes. The results of our criminal Courts indicate that system is broken. OJ's dream team was effective. McCain sure helped his buddies in the Keating savings and loan scandal. At the same time prosecutors with no restraint have pursued politically motivated cases in NC against innocent Duke athletes and my favorite, here in Georgia, a McDonald's worker was charged with assault against a Police Officer for serving a hamburger with too much salt on it.

Much of our criminal prosecution has even been outsourced to private contractors who install speed and red light cameras to raise criminal fines (revenue) on a commission basis.

Our Nation has tossed its Constitution out the window and along with it the recognition that our Nation was formed on the basis of the consent of the governed.

I see. So now i'm supposed to FUND another government program to give ILLEGAL ALIENS legal drivers licenses without citizenship so they can drive without insurance anyway? I'm already paying for their children's education, their healthcare, their participation in our welfare programs, their prison care, their 18th and 19th deportations, their "emergecy" medical treatments, their abortions, and their birth control....all while being forced to learn THEIR language in order to accomodate THEM into my SOVEREIGN home.

That is part of the reason I voted Huckabee. The Fair Tax would obtain revenue from these freeloaders.

As far as I'm concerned we need to require documentation before shipping cash out of the US and sieze the ill gotten assets of those who are deported.

Canada revised their laws to NOT provide citizenship to the children of illegals born in their nation. Here in the US these kids are citizens.

Again, the Federal government under the "leadership" of W. has completely failed in it's most basic responsbilities.

Huckabee can't change Tax laws all by himself. Take all of Congress to do that. Bush told them to pass the new stimulus without delay and here we are delaying.

Huckabee can't (not that he'll be given the chance) but the hope is that once a good idea is understood by the majority of Americans, maybe real change can happen.

In the mean time our Nation's unworkable Federal system continues to fail, resulting in law abiding citizens losing their economic and personal freedom while scofflaws including illegal aliens do very well by ignoring the system.

I will again write a large check to our Federal government this year (while suffering a real loss) as a result of dividends paid out of my mutual fund holdings. Nothing like losing tens of thousands while writing a check for thousands to cover taxes.

Savers are so severely penalized in our nation that I'm beginning to wish that I had 6 kids with 4 different women while not working and getting a sub prime loan, and a equity loan, to buy a big SUV while I could default on and keep in Florida while complaining that it was so unfair that the bank took advantage of me.

Instead, I made around $80,000 in real earnings, lost more than $50,000 on savings and get the pleasure of paying more than $25,000 in taxes for a net gain of $5,000 for working two, sometimes three, jobs last year.

My friends (legal immigrants) are on track for US Citizenship and my advice is to keep their national citizenship. Some are returning to their countries of origin after learning that those in the system here in the United States LACK FREEDOM.

Operation Enduring Freedom - what's in a name? Here a guy can't even repair his car without three kinds of licenses and fees. Changing the oil in my airplane requires (no kidding) a $10,000 bond, insurance - $5,000,000 in favor of the local government regulatory entity, a hazmat course, a driver safety course, airport registration, background check, an A&P Certificate (yes, I know it is not a FAA requirement - but IS local law), a Material Safety Data Sheet for your 50 W, HazMat disposall and walking the materials through a security gate which is fun with a bunch of oily crap.

~ or ~ ignore the law and dumpt the oil illegally (or the local Pep Boys - just tell them it came from your Ford Tractor, farmers are exempt)

Good. We don't need a bail out package, we need the economy to right itself. It won't be fun, but we will better in the long run for it.
