The simple fact is that the GOP is so divided right now and with the condition this nation is in that it doesn't matter which Dem wins the nomination that person will likely be the next president.

Hitlery can't get elected, no matter who the Reps run. Too many people absolutely hate her. She'll lose in a massive landslide. People like me that can't stand McCain will show up just to vote against the Clintons. Nominating Hitlery would be the death knell for the Dems this year.

I agree with you that I don't want to see Hillary win the nomination but Mccain will be ALLOT worse for me and this country.

Couldn't agree more!

People who wouldn't get out of their car to vote for Mccain will be waiting at the voting booth to vote against Hillary. Whoever claimed the repubs were devided is correct, but you will see a direct alignment of the party by the time the convention comes around and it will be aimed at beating Hillary. I believe even Ron Paul would be elected opposite Hillary, she is despised by too many, and many women (her supposed trump card) will say they want a woman president, but not THAT woman.
Obama v. Mccain will be a much closer call, and it will be back to who can get out their vote, his negatives to the repubs are all policy based and not personal as in Hillary. If he achieves dems showing up at the polls in the rate they have been for the primary, he will be hard to beat, because the repubs will not realign so tightly for mccain compared to obama.
Obama had an unprecedented number of voters show up to the polls here in DC a week before the actual primary because they were confused and thought super tuesday included them as well.

well that thread just went to hell in a handbasket!

XPOO...still trying to understand what iraq had to do with 9-11 and why we had to start a war there and why that is clintons fault. i have to yet have it explained to me, but i am sure people will keep trying. do you see the 60 minutes piece where the fbi agent that interviewed saddam said that he told him that he had no WMD? oh well, i know i am wasting my time....W will go down as the worst pres in the history of this country.

It was pretty hard to beat tricky Dick and the watergate scandal but GW did it...

That's nice spin. Do you work for the Hitlery campaign? Fact is, they're splitting the delegate count. Hitlery may have "won" California, but she didn't win the delegates thanks to that wonderful district-by-district delegate proportionality. So, after all is said and done, she will only net about 10 delegates over Obama from Cali. That's a tie. For the entire night, Obama will probably beat her by about 5-10 delegates. Plus, he won 14 states to her 8. All in all, a very good night for Obama. They go forward pretty much tied, and he's got the money on his side. I'm confident that Hitlery will still be tossed aside.

Now that's spin. Do you work for the Osama, uh I mean Obama campaign?

Neither can Obama. Sorry, but having a black president carries too much baggage for too many people. Our state of national acceptance just isn't to that point yet.

I know lots of white republicans here in Georgia who crossed over yesterday just to keep Obama out. If he's nominated, it's a dead ringer for the Republicans... and that's if some crazy skinhead doesn't assassinate him. At least Hillary has a chance.

Either way, the Democratic Party screwed itself by running Edwards out in favor of the rock star candidates. He carried the least baggage and had the best chance of winning a general election. Maybe they'll make him the next DNC chairman since he got screwed just like Howard Dean.

I respectfully disagree. I think this country is ready for a black president...as long as he's "white enough".

The media has made a big deal about whether or not Obama was "black enough" to reach the black voters, but, sadly and more importantly, the real question is "is he white enough to reach white voters?". I think he is...he has enough crossover appeal and most people know he was raised by his white mother and white grandparents...and that was enough to sell my stuffy, old-school grandparents on him.

What's sad is all of that seems to matter to so many people...

Oddly enough, Obama captured the vote mostly among blacks and affluent whites. Not poor to middle class whites, who make up the majority of the electorate, both GOP and Democratic.

I would contest that he's not black enough for blacks, and too black for middle class whites.

As bad as he is...noone can touch Carter. Sorry. And just for kicks...you should go back and read and see what this country thought of Lincoln during his administration. He's a hero now, but you will be amazed at how he was portrayed at the time.

Hillary is currently ahead of Obama in delegates, 582-562. A narrow win, but a win nonetheless. It will mean much more in terms of momentum.

He also pledged to put a "civil rights observer" in every Federal court district "to ensure blacks don't get more harsh sentences than whites". Translation: time to stick it to the honky and get even.

Change simply for the sake of change isn't necessarily good. You have to tell people WHAT you're going to change, and so far, his "changes" seem to be more along the lines of Jesse Jackson's agenda than Nancy Pelosi's.

Well, if Saddam had nothing to hide, why didn't he just let the UN Inspectors do their jobs? Didn't Hillary and Obama vote to not only invade but also continue to fight the War in Iraq? Oh, but now they are going to play the dumb card. Good to see you are one of the many that will fall for THIER deceptions.

Actually Obama did not vote in favor of the war in the initial vote. He was not in the senate at the time. I think he did vote to continue to fund the war, which relunctenly I agree with. once we went in there we owe it to the iraqis to keep at it and try to stabilize the country. saddam said he kept up the illusion of WMD in order to deter Iran. I am guessing you did not watch the 60 minutes. very enlighting, you should try to get a copy of it. I am not defending saddam, but the reasons we started a war are sketchy at best. I cant help but wonder how much better off we and afghanistan would be if we had focused on that situation....but no...

Roger Clemens also told 60 Minutes that he never used Performance Enhancing drugs.

Obama is a good candidate that happens to be a black man. This is a contrast to the other "black" candidates in the past.

I was inclined not to support him, until I learned more about his positions. His health care plan is conservative and on economic issues he is actually more conservative than Romney's example set in Massachusetts - where government was expanded, Medicaid increased, taxes raised by the loss of the personal exemption by opting out and costs shifted to younger Americans who do not use the government program.

Yes. Would you rather be struck by a hit and run driver with no insurance, or a licensed and insured driver? My wife's new car was hit last week by a newer black full sized truck, with no tag and "Rodriquez" on the back window. I would prefer that the driver had not fled the scene.

It concerns me greatly that our Federal Government has failed in it's basic duty to secure our border. This is a responsibility of the Executive Branch and Lord knows Bush has gotten plenty of funding for military efforts in other parts of the World. When the Mexican Police and Military make armed incursions across our border both in support of and in engagement with organized crime it is an act of WAR and should be responded to accordingly. Not with rhetoric, or free economic agreements - Bush has utterly failed on this very basic security obligation.

Now that we have millions of "undocumented" aliens in this Country, we have to go on the task of documenting them. Having fake ID, or Consular Matricular registrations, with no reliable database is just an invitation to engage in crimes from tax aviodance and hit and run driving all the way to money laundering billions and murder.

What I like about Obama is that he is pragmatic.

Have the Courts been unfair? If you look at the results the answer is yes. The results of our criminal Courts indicate that system is broken. OJ's dream team was effective. McCain sure helped his buddies in the Keating savings and loan scandal. At the same time prosecutors with no restraint have pursued politically motivated cases in NC against innocent Duke athletes and my favorite, here in Georgia, a McDonald's worker was charged with assault against a Police Officer for serving a hamburger with too much salt on it.

Much of our criminal prosecution has even been outsourced to private contractors who install speed and red light cameras to raise criminal fines (revenue) on a commission basis.

Our Nation has tossed its Constitution out the window and along with it the recognition that our Nation was formed on the basis of the consent of the governed.

By the way, I did not vote for Obama, but I can not vote for Hillary. Whitewater, her inappropriate and exclusive actions to force universal health care while being one of the largest recipients of lobbying dollars from the healthcare industry, her politically motivated course changes, and her temper, leave me thinking she is intelligent, but not half as smart as she thinks she is - crafty but with no integrity.
