Writing is on the wall for SKYW. operating old 200s at a loss eventually will catch up with you.

Im sure we will be flying our old 200's that are paid for.. They make us money.. And im guessing this is just for a few years then 900's will come.

That was 6 years ago!!! These majors can't see one month in front of them, let alone 6 years in the past!!

Sniper,

While I don't doubt what you say, how would this unite too warring pilot groups?

Settle the lawsuit...USAPA is gone and ALPA back.......AMR had their pilots union on its knees with 45 million slap in their face, I can tell you USAPA does not have 45 dollars to give...3 way merge more votes for ALPA

unless one of the contract carriers in the US Air system (Rep, Mesa, PSA operate the 70 seaters CRJ700/900 and ERJ170/175) sheds some 70 seaters they cannot add any more 70 seaters WRT our scope.

The limit is 110 (ish) and they are at that now.

Fr8tmastr could probably give some better details.

Starting this fall the PSA 700's will be getting first class seats. That will drop the seating capacity down to 68 pax.

It's the size of the plane. Can PSA buy a 757 and equip it with 68 seats too? Wrong!

OYS

757 with 68 seats! Hahahahahah.
However they can equip it with less seats and go below the 70 seats. There's already a CRJ/700 series that has few seats. Management even talked about it with the Q400's (Which has a 68 seat version with first class). So yes they can do it.

You are not getting any Q 400's

The Q-400 is the back-up plan in case the CRJ7 gets scoped out at United. SkyWest didn't just kick the tires on a pay proposal just to scratch the idea completely. Just wait for it...

Jets over 50 seats are going to be scoped out which will affect Skywest. United & Continental pilots will not budge. Skywest will not be a fun place to be until they get reorganized.

You don't understand. They won't budge on 50 seat scope.

I understand that's just chest thumping by a vocal few claiming to be the voice of many and all. Fact is, you don't know how it will turn out just as well as I don't know how it will turn out. It might happen, it might not; it might even stay status quo.

To stay closer to topic, the rumor of SkyWest getting Q400s for growth or a scope-out holds merit regardless of the eventual outcome.

You can't undo what has already been done...not with airline scope, and certainly not in one fell swoop.

70 seat "small jets" aren't going to disappear from UniCal any year soon...

You sound so sure of yourself. The guys i have talked too would take pay increases to relax the scope. Granted they are not the whole company but i cannot make assumptions about which way they will swing. So unless you know every single pilot at UA/CO, or you can predict the future your comments are bogus. If you can predict the future, then i agree with AntiJedi, Powerball numbers please :)

The sad thing is, they will do it for a raise that will not even keep up with inflation.

Sounds like ultra senior heavy drivers willing to sell out there junior brethern for another 5 bucks/hr and increased defined controbution.

Like you have a clue what the mainline guys think.

As compared to regional pilots that flew a 70 seat jet for the same as a 50 because their Mormon master told them he needed it to "prove it can be viable".

Like you think you have a clue because you're mainline.

Bite it, starfish.

I'd say I'm about 1000 times more informed on the status of negotiations, and how most line pilots feel at the combined UAL/CAL when it comes to scope. Enjoy the props.

Don't forget to wear ear plugs in that metro liner junior. Being deaf on top your being ignorant would be a terrible combination.

So.... You're saying no jets will fly for you? If not, what exactly are you saying about scope? Everyone is watching.
