I am trying to get some real world info and make a few life decisions here. You guys are the best source I've found, so I figured I'd just post - somethign I normally don't do. Forgive me if the info has already been posted - I wanted to get the most current info and find it all in one place.
What are most of the new hire classes getting for domiciles?
How is seniority in a class determined?
How long is training, and is there a preset scedule?
What are the typical upgrade times?
If you are hired into the RJ, can you upgrade into the EMB120 (I heard there was something weird about that)?
What is the typical month on reserve yielding for hours?
How long are new hires on reserve in DEN typically?
Any other info you may have that you think would be useful would also be appreciated.
My story is that I see the writing on the wall at UAL, and I've been running my own business since being furloughed in January of '03. I miss flying, and thought that someday, UAL would make it out of this mess and I could go back. Now I worry they won't, and since I haven't been flying, I am pretty much unmarketable in the industry. We are EXTREMELY lucky as furloughees to have an opportunity to work at the regionals through an agreement that deals with hiring UAL guys per RJ ordered. I figured I should take it to make sure my career as a pilot doesn't get totally buried.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Randy
