Hey Fins...I'll take Jerry over ALPA any day of the year....Who would you rather have at the table?

After all he negotiated more scope for ASA than ALPA even thinks it is allowed to negotiate...How's that for ironic....ALPA says they can't negotiate DAL flying for ASA pilots....and Jerry does negotiate it....

Jerry has credibility with many of us....ALPA not so much.....

Joe, ALPA sucks! They have done everything in their power, at least at the national level, to Eff the regionals over. BUT, Jerry is an even bigger POS than ALPA. He is a cancer on this industry. I am sorry for anyone who has to choose between these two worst case scenarios.

He has helped us here at ASA....He negotiated more job protection for ASA than ALPA did....He made changes in our GO that the previous owners couldn't do over the past 29 years....

So far I am impressed....

In a way...he has more leverage than ALPA....Think about it....Like him or not he is good at what he does....I'm not looking for a friend...I'm looking for an effective leader that is good at what they do...

If you want a friend....get a dog....

Job protection? At Jerry's pleasure. It pleased Jerry to strip 26 jets from ASA. It was a violation of status quo.

Your loyalty is not reciprocated. Ask Jerry who you work for.

All a matter of perspective, I guess....

How many times do I have to go over this with you?

Jerry negotiates with Delta. He has to, that's the way business works. ASA ALPA negotiates with ASA management. ASA management can't control Delta flying. I'm sure if they could we would have all of it.

The 80% flying out of ATL clause protects only SkyWest Inc., not the ASA pilot group. Watch in a month or two all the new SkyWest planes you see in ATL. ASA will be nowhere near 80%, but SkyWest Inc. will be.

What do you mean by this? Do you know something about SkyWest Inc, and more flying out of Atlanta that I don't know about?

I'll have to remember that when I walk into Jerry's office and happen to hear a certain rhythmic humming coming from under his desk-best just back slowly out of the room and close the door. Joe Merchant's work is never done.......

P.S.-Just give it up, Joe! You an LJ need to just end it all by driving of something steep in a convertible just like Thelma and Louise. Face it, you two RJDC idiots had your chance and you lost......THE END!!!!

Jmoney, can you please explain something to me?

Why does praising effective leadership automatically elicits some kind of homoerotic accusatory response from the chest-thumper crowd? Why is there something wrong with pointing out a job well done? Are you guys so insecure that you can't take the thought of someone in management doing not only what is good for the company, but possibly looking out for what is good for the employees as well?

Like or dislike ol' Joey Merchant...he said nothing that isn't completely true.

I just don't get it...I'm starting to think some of you were dropped on your heads as children, have some serious personal issues with size of your genitalia, or are lashing out from the stresses of being a closet homosexual. That is the only scientific/psychological explanation I can come up with.

Pilots are retarded... no matter how good we have it we complain... those that dont have what some of us have suffer from envy.... they cant have what we have so they try to mock and belittle to make themselves feel good... case in point.... PBR

I could possibly see XJT pilots waiving their contractual right (binding the holding company or holding company's successor in event of a merger/acquisition) to ONE LIST...but it depends what SGU is willing to write into a legally binding agreement protecting current XJT flying and jobs.

Everything is negotiable.

Got to love monopolies! With guaranteed near-monopoly on flying - you can be as inefficient, as unproductive, as expensive as you want to be. No free-market motivation to be competitive or anything. Now if we can get rid of that pesky DOT reporting - no one would know any better! Sweet!!

[NOTE: Not saying that this is or will be the case, but this kind of deal in the free-market does exactly that.]
