Just want to see what other pilot think. I have been offered a job by SkyWest and ExpressJet. If I take the skywest job I will be starting on monday august 21 in the CRJ. If I take expressjet I would be starting in September. I think that both airlines would be great to work for. I don't really know anyone at skywest so I haven't been able to find find out much about the quality of life there. I would get based out of ORD if I went to skywest so, I would have to commute from STL to ORD. What are the schedules like at Skywest and the number of days you can have off?

Chuck Norris...

Wait, what was the question?

im guessing your a TSA guy? Do you want to learn a new airplane? If you flew at TSA, are you still working or furloughed? If you are still working stay and then go to XJT, if your furloughed head to skywest.

Unless your planning on spending your entire career at the regionals you are going to have to learn a new airplane someday...

I wish XJT all the luck in the world but what is the long term plan for the 69 aircraft that are due to leave the CoEx operation. I know they are in the running for MidEx flying...fine that takes care of 15-20. What are the rest supposed to do again...charter?? I'm sure they have a business plan put together but there is no guarantee it's going to be successful. All because XJT is willing to hire you today it does not mean you will be working there next year...Skyway and Mesaba are two regionals that I can think of that hired strong and then a week later were furloughing.

XJT is a great company as it stands today, there's the problem. It will look nothing like that a year from now. You have no idea what your signing up for not to mention you will be at the bottom of the list. If this was your first 121 job then I would concider rolling the dice, but few things suck more than having to leave one regional to go to another. Start at Skywest...with any luck maybe XJT will unveil the master plan by your class date with them.

It would seem SkyWest is the better bet. It is a well managed company that will succeed in the future.

ExpressJet is nothing more than a phantom organization created on paper that will be nothing more than a faint memory six years from now.

well if you you want to represent the bottom and fly a crj 200, 700, and 900 for the same price then go to skywest.

Glad you have it all figured out. Maybe you should go work for the Boyd group with your omnipotent insight. 2500 pilots are doing their dangdest to prove you wrong.

(I can't believe this thing changed my post to say "dang".)
