i would bet that most of you (at least the smart ones) would probably make the same decision i made if you were standing in my same position!

CH just emailed me and she said she might have a class for me by the end of this week.

C-blue,

I respect your decision on waiting for the Crj. That's a family decision for you right there, and that's important. I thought about doing the same thing. I think things will be easier if you're in the company and your seniority is in the mix.

So, If CH calls me right now for the Emb, I'll be driving my a$$ up to SLC for that class. Doing that, the Crj will be an upgrade away if I bid for it. Good luck.

"YOU MY BOY BLUE!!!"

30,

What are you gonna do? stay for the RJ, or go for the Bro? either way, it's all good.

I guess I need to explain to all of you MY PERSONAL DECISION for waiting. Originally my post was simply confirming the fact that there was a March 13th class, and that Cassidy did indeed say it was for March. I really dont care what airplane I fly, I care about quality of life....but I guess it has been somewhat entertaining to hear some of the insults...like "the biggest fool on the face of the earth" or just want to fly " the shiny new jet" like im too cool for the EMB...Or maybe that my wife is being fed that the EMB is a beat up airplane and that Im a more respectable pilot if I fly the jet. oh the one about being a panzy for not wanting to fly a real mans airplane was good...but the one that really penetrated...I mean really got to the core of me was the insult about BYU. Now there was really no need for that one!
If you really care Ill tell you...I am enjoying about 17-18 days off a month already flying the jet. With upgrade just around the corner. suppose one of the majors.....actually you know I dont really feel like continuing. If you really care then PM me and we'll talk

So, your already flying the jet for another regional? I think the point that many people are trying to make is that the sooner you get your foot in the door, the sooner you'll be back to having those same 17-18 days off a month at SkyWest. If it is so good already, why start over at SkyWest?

On a more personal note, I do apologize for all the grief my UTES have caused your cougars over the past few years.

Did you hear that the let a man eating tiger loose on BYU campus? He starved to death. (All in good fun my friend........)

I'm raising the BS flag. Why would someone enjoying 17-18 days off per month with "upgrade around the corner" leave to start over at another regional especially if he wants to go to a major.

Because the upgrade is probably in the NWA airlink family, and he is probably waiting to see how the strike pans out.

I left Eagle after 6 years, and my upgrade was just around the corner;) And hands down it was the best thing I did!!

.....of EMB FO's taking the transition then you could be on reserve your entire probationary period or longer depending on your domicile. .........

hey, just curious on how the probationary period works at a non-union place. any word on continued hiring through the summer? thanks

Did you tell your wife that there are newer, hotter flight attendants in the bro and she demanded you get the jet? I dont work for SkyWest but i bet you that if quality of life is important to you, then build seniority. Are you a mesa pilot?

On a side note about BYU, did you guys check out the new porn Bring 'Em Young University? Apparently, the Utah community is all up in arms about this.

Quit Calling It A Bro, Bro!!!!!!

Shouldn't it be called a Bra? It's a Brasilia not a Brosilia. I guess it must be that super cool Cali surfer lingo.

im originally from michigan and fly the bro, and i dont conform to the cool cali lingo, i still call pop pop

Congrats

So congrats to all of you who made the Mar 13th class, it's great to see that classes have finally started again. The pool was definitely getting cold. Has anyone else been called for additional classes? Looks like ASA has announced four classes, and people are starting to be called for interviews again, so one would guess that additional classes are right around the corner, maybe even a CRJ class for CougarBlue?

Beer30?

As has been mentioned above, since SkyWest has not hired in a few months there are many F.O.s who were hired into the Brasilia who are now off their year seat-lock that will get an RJ slot before any newhires. Looking at the standing bid sheet, there are even 60 bids in for ORD, the most junior RJ domicile.

Long story short: Don't expect any newhires to go into the jet for some time.

Life could be worse than flying a Brasilia up and down the California coast for a year before you get into the jet, but to each their own...

Can you say GIA pft? That's what CB's "I'm holding for the jet" sounds like to me. What ever floats ya I guess. Now, if I could only figure out how to get me one of those flyin' jobs.

E120

For what it's worth, the E120 is a hell of a lot more fun to fly than that POS Barbie-Jet 200. It's a lot more likely to kill you, but when it doesn't, it truly is a pilot's airplane.

And after a few thousand hours in each, give me the RJ anyday...

All right, I hear you on that one. However, I sure as poo wouldn't wait on an aircraft rather than getting in the game and flying something non-jet. And although I never really got comfy with the prop on that thing, it really was/is a fun airplane to fly. Not to mention the team atmosphere that developed among the crews as a direct result of never knowing if/when that prop was going to try to kill you all. And you know, some days when I sit back and reminisce about my days with that sweet, sweet bird, my ass actually starts to hurt again and my shoulders begin to tighten up just a bit, but I still wouldn't trade those days/memories for anything.

heres how its done

If you want a coke, you say to the waitress "coke", if you want a sprite, you say "sprite", none of this blanketing all caffiene drinks with the word pop! Cant stand when you fellas do that! And gentlemen thats how it is done, at least down here. In all reality im only jabbin at yall, its not that big a deal, but dont come down to the south using that method. Just call it what it is. If you ask for a pop, you are gonna get a strange look for a second or two. And whats up with the raseberry tea up north, its all thats ever offered. It really seems to be everywhere up there. We all know good sweet tea is the best. Ok im finished.

All right Johnny P,
First of all, Sprite doesn't have caffeine in it. With that picture of yours I would expect you to know a little more about Coca-Cola and it's wonderful variety of products that bring smiles to the world everyday.
Second, "sweet tea" is essentially the same as just eating a 1 pound bag of sugar, with a touch of caffeine for good measure. It is adult onset (type II) diabetes in a liquid form, nothing more. Tea should be unsweet and Coke should have booze in it, taken any other way and you might as well just have a nice ice water.
