Superpilot92 said:Just curious how firm the mins are? They are now published as 1000 and 100, I have over 800 tt and almost 200 multi. Is skywest firm on the tt requirement even if i have almost double the multi requirement? Thanks for any info.
Vik said:Please change the topic ... its misleading because the minimums have been 1000/100 for a *very long* time .. I've got many friends at Skywest and they've all told me its firm .. even 900/600 won't help.
zuka said:My point is there is a big difference between published and competitive minimums.

Interestingly, I jumpseated once a United flight and the captain had gotten on with UAL with 900 hours TT in the late '90's. He was an intern with them and just happened to meet the right people and he went straight from college to Big Blue. And this gentelman is a white male.
I realize that this person was definitely not the norm, but it did happen back then.
That is why I asked; to find out whether or not this was a rumor. Apparently, it is. I know that NWA has the ability to shop for a 3rd regional partner. They have options for 150+ CRJ 200's. So far they are very conservative in converting them into firm orders for Pinnacle. Thanks for the reply though.

Ahh, another interesting point. However, re-read my post and pay attention the "off the street" reference. By that I mean, not an intern, not sons-and-daughters, not OBAP, not WIA, not the 99's, ect, get the point?
Not trying to start a fire. Yeah, the guy that helped me get my current job (which I am about to get furoulghed from) was hired at Pan Am in the 60's with
400 hours into the DC-8. But that was a much different time, along with a much different pay check, qol. ect.
