As long as it's honest work, I can make enough to put food on the table after the 1st year of employment, then I'll have to disagree with you.

I don't expect to become rich and I expect my 1st year anywhere to be extremely low pay. I have a savings account and a supportive wife.

Medical students (doctors) go through similar financial situations, except it takes much longer for them to start earning a decent living (and they are deeper in debt).
