COS and DEN look more junior than they are. In the past DEN and COS have been awarded out of training. I put in a bid for transfer to COS or DEN back in Dec and it just got awarded. I'm in the middle of the pack for CRJ FO's. Don't plan on getting COS or DEN anytime soon, although things may change as more FO's upgrade. I'd guess 6 months for either base.

6 months is no time... so long as there is movement. Are you able to see how many are in front of you for the move? Where is movement in those bases comming from? Are they still taking deliveries of aircraft in those bases or is it strictly upgrades?

How about in the EMB?

COS and DEN are not growing too much right now.

movement comes from additional flying for Delta and attrition, which is about 25/month right now. People leave for JB, SWA, FedEx, etc.

I heard yesterday that there will be 'hundreds' more newhires for 2006.

Thanks for the great info. I believe I read that seniority out of training is based on the last 4 digits of your social security # - is that correct?
Thanks!

Yes. SSN #xxx-xx-0000 = Most Senior (except for current employees - they go ahead of all newhires).

SSN #xxx-xx-9999 = Least Senior.

Recently got back from spending a little time playing with the SIM and the story from guys that know way more about the company than me is that things are gearing up big time. Next month's class (actually one will run every three weeks indefinitely) will be of 70 pilots (largest class ever), and they are planning newhires, transitions, and upgrades in order to facilitate "the biggest expansion in the history of the company."

At the going rate standard attrition to mainline carriers (SWA, CAL, JBLU, UPS, FDX, etc.) is around 20 per month, and as UAL occasionally places a significant recall that moves up to 30 per month.

A couple of weeks ago in Jerry's speech to the investment community in NYC a man who has been known to be hesitant to commit to any solid statements said he expects to make announcement of new codeshares with one or two new carriers by the end of the year.

For what its worth...

Skywest didn't hire for a while (while delta sorted out) so things have remained quiet for about 6-8 months, now it seems we are low for all crew members (CAs, FOs, and FAs). It seems there is a shortage in all domiciles but expecially in DEN

Question: I interviewed in May and I got the letter that said try I need more flight time and qualifications. Apply again in 6 months. With all of the hiring that skywest is doing would they wave the 6 months if I got a larger amount of time? I dought it but could I get your .02.

They won't wave the 6 months month's just like they won't budge on the minimums for hiring. 6 months wil be up in no time though. look forward to seeing you here.

Is this really true? I heard all newhires were going to ORD and SLC.

does anybody know if they want original copies of transcripts for college or will copies work. also i was at the group interview last week got an invite to slc on the 30th of june and still haven't recieved the confirmation email. how long should i wait before starting to harrass hr?

I don't remember them asking for my transcripts at all. When I graduated I ordered 10 official transcripts so I never have to scramble to get them.

see i am still attending so never thought the problem would arise. do you think copies will work?

I wouldn't think that it would be a problem, but if you can get the original i would recommend bringing it. If your still attending why would you not simply go get a real one?

i haven't been back to school since the group interview so getting those hasn't presented itself..
