Speaking of which, can someone tell me why the f*** Bro guys jump around bases like it's going out of style? Why can't people just sit their a$$ still in one base for the love of Jesus?

Maybe someone wants to get closer to where they live for an easier commute. Maybe someone wants to experience different types of flying. Maybe someone just feels like it.....

Thanks for the quick response Rickair, one more question if you're still online. Any idea what the lines look like for the LAX Reserve base? I heard you get 10 days off a month (11 if it's a 31 day mo). Do the reserve lines usually have consecutive days off? Could you request certain days off or trade days off to get four of five days off in a row?

All reserve, which means you will fly a lot right now due to growth and attrition. Also, expect deadheads to far-away places (a few round trips to ORD each month will sure get your credit up).

10 days off each month, but the months are adjusted to get as close to thirty days as possible (ie "FEB" this year actually ran from JAN31 to MAR01).

Your days off will be in blocks of 2 or 3. I doubt you could trade much, cuz there are so few reserve pilots to trade with.

Your QOL would almost certainly be better with a line somewhere else, and 14-18 days off. You could always try it and see...

capt. megadeth,

This is a serious question, why do (did) you care?

Respectfully,

Lilah

Because my fiancee works there and gets a line every other month. Just when we think he will be getting a line indefinitely, 3 dudes senior to him come into base and he drops down just enough to get reserve. I know it's people's right to do that, but from our perspective, it's annoying. We thought about moving bases too figuring he may have a better chance to hold a line somewhere else but it seems to us that it's better to just sit still than chase a base to get a line. It seems to me like a lot of people are changing bases thinking the same thing...that they will get a better line somewhere else. It seems to me though, if everyone just sat their a$$ still, everyone would be better off.

You've been in this industry how long? Don't you know this is what happens when someone takes the first available upgrade! You want some QOL and PIC time, good luck, and you're the first one to bash people when they hold out for QOL. HA

By the way he's in FAT isn't he? And been here around a year? There are another 6-12 guys senior to him ready to transfer in as soon as positions open up.

Nice try....there are only 2-3. Well the bids came out today and he will get a line next month so......HA!

What do you care where he is and how long he has been here? What I say on here has nothing to do with what his views are. Just for your information, he thought what I said on the other thread was out of line. I caught a bunch of $hit from him for it too so don't assume my opinions are his, k?
