I know that i could find all this by doing numerous searches but I am way to lazy today. I am wondering what the junior bases for skywest are? If I get on I will have to ride lakes to Denver and then go from there. Moving to one of the base is really not an option. 19K does not afford many. What is a the reserve like and what is a typical line holder work. Thanks guys. I should have interviewed last August when I had the chance the first time. Sounds like I will get another shot soon though. The King Air is making me deaf.

The Brasilia might be a bit noisier.

Do you live within drivng distance of DEN in case GLA cancels? If you've got a 2 leg commute you might need some alternates. In any case commuting to reserve is not pleasant. You might want to plan on the crashpad routine intially.

5 hour drive to denver. But Rapid City is only two and Casper is only two when lakes cancels. It is all good. I know it won''t be pleasant but neither is what i am doing now. I can do anything for a year.

All I can say is good luck if you're commuting to FAT. When you're 5 on and 2 off you might see home just long enough to do some laundry and start your commute back. To each their own but I don't see it being too plausible unless you're based in a hub. Figure you need at least a couple of back up flights and if you're not based in a hub like ORD, DEN, or SLC you're looking at a 2 or even 3 leg commute. Basically if you live in MON (Middle of Nowhere) then your commute goes like this.
MON - DEN
DEN - whatever hub serves your outstation base
That hub - your domicile.

LA or Frisco would be perfect for you...they're both reserve only bases, but you have options up the yinyang to get there...plus crashpads are a plenty......You could probably bid LA and get it right out of training (if you get the brasilia..the RJ might not be as easy). Sit on it for a couple of months and then transfer to denver when your seniority can hold it....good stuff
