I have lots of experience with Mormons in my family. He called me a bigot, insinuating that I have a problem with Mormons. I am not a bigot. He is, however, an idiot for making blanket statements about people he knows nothing about.

Then why bring the Mormon Church into a thread that had nothing to do with it?

Went out to get a bowl of pasta last night.....Ordered a glass of wine and the Waitress said, "Sorry, it's voting day today, no drinks until after 8:30pm." YGBFSM. Utah has enough WHACKED liquor laws, but the fact the Mormon Church and the State are so intertwined is RECOCULOUS. It borders on the absurd. I'm a die hard Republican but vote Democrat across the board in Utah. Why? Mormons seem to control the Great State of Utah. I'd like to help change that.

Haven't been reading the Tribune lately have you? Salt Lake growth is diluting the Mormon population rapidly. Utah is expecting rapid growth in the next 10 years......Rapid growth for the City, not for the Mormon faith. Relish in your control, it's gonna end, and that right soon.

You know who was really cool in the Mormon Faith was Emma (Joseph's wife.) She really stuck up for herself. After pleading with her husband not to take on multiple wives, she threatened to take on multiple husbands.

Of course Mr. Smith didn't like that, apparently beamed himself up--had a little chit chat and came out with this....

"And I command mine handmaid, Emma Smith, to abide and cleave unto my servant Joseph, and to none else. What's even better, is Mr. Smith came up with this next...

Honorably acquitted? Not according to my documents. Mr. Joseph Smith was found guilty of being a "disorderly person and an imposter." Now I'm no professor, but that's fraud. I don't care how you spin it. But no matter. The guy is a convicted felon and pedophile. The LDS faith has a lot of great people in it, no argument there. The faith itself, too many inconsistencies for me. Keep on keepin' on.

No matter Comrade. The Baby Boomers are retiring. California has a lot of high property taxes. Californians like 2 things (Like most others) 1) Beaches and 2) Mountains. Beaches are rather expensive today, at least in CA. Going rate in San Diego for Ocean Front is around $2K per sq. foot. That's a lot of Jack. The second alternative is to live in the Mountains (Not that either has a priority over the other). Utah has great property taxes vs. California. A lot of retirees are moving here. All over, not just Salt Lake proper.

Practice your faith. I'm all for whatever makes you happy. Don't infringe on my quality of life by imposing your religious beliefs into my personal life. The Gov't of Utah does that--to an extent. That will change over the next few years, I believe as more "Gentiles" move to Utah. Just my opinion of course.
