I was just curious what is the future of the Brasilia on the short routes? Has management ever stated that they plan to replace the Bro with the RJ, For routes such as SAN-LAX?

I just saw a SKYW EMB in the new United colors, so I guess they plan on keeping that one for a few more years...

When Skywest retires the last RJ, the crew is going to deadhead home on a Brasilia.

Where at?

LAX system...acft 293SW

From Skywest employees: some routes are definitely not for CRJ 200's, like SUN, JAC etc. Without the leading edge devices, they are unable to make the required descent angles in certain cases, and the EMB remains the more suitable aircraft.

Bottom line: No one knows. Rumors of its' demise are as old as jazzercise but we are still flying it. I have heard from unreliable sources that the leases will run out between '08 and '11, but nothing of replacements.
