polygamy is not practiced, endorsed, condoned, overlooked, encouraged or allowed by the LDS church. anyone who does practice it is in violation of church doctrine and is commiting a crime in the state of utah.

Thanks for clearing that up. So why'd they give it up? IT was a recognized practice at one time, right? What happened, was the state going to withold highway funds or something? Or was it some deal to become a state. I can't remember.
