Many of you have heard rumors of an upcoming ALPA union drive for SkyWest. This post serves to update you on the latest information about efforts currently under way to establish ALPA as the union for SkyWest pilots.

The following activities are taking place right now –

• ALPA has established a website link for SkyWest pilots to send their contact information to ALPA – http://skywest.alpa.org. The sole purpose of this website, currently, is to gather a list of contact information in order to communicate with pilots. ALPA has committed to keeping this information strictly confidential. In order to move forward with a viable union effort, we must be able to communicate with each pilot. Whether you are pro-ALPA, pro-union, anti-ALPA or anti-union, we would like to have your contact information so you can be informed of what is going on.

• During the past few months, several SkyWest pilots have formed an organizing committee that is working with full-time ALPA staff. Pilots have volunteered from each domicile to help in various aspects on the committee. More volunteers are needed to reach out to the rest of the pilot population!

• Informational meetings are scheduled for April 19-21 at the Salt Lake City airport for pilots to
learn about ALPA and the status of the organizing effort. Specific times and locations of the sessions will be sent as soon as details are finalized.

The organizing committee is asking for your help!

Here are the ways you can help now –

• Make sure you’ve submitted your contact information at http://skywest.alpa.org.

• Give fellow pilots a copy of this post. If you are able to help on the organizing committee,
please contact one of the committee members.

• If other pilots have questions or concerns, please encourage them to contact one of the
committee members.

Additional activities and communications are being planned now. The more help and information we receive from other pilots, the quicker we can move forward with the campaign to prepare for the future.

Fraternally Yours

SkyWest Pilots ALPA Organizing Committee

In your humble opinion, what kind of timeframe would a task of this nature take to come to fruition.

Curious.

Hey Flavor Flav you can find more info at Alpa.org

We should be able to get ALPA, Teamsters, or even UPA after PBS goes live at all our bases.

We need SKYW to be represented by ALPA if any of us want to have stable, good paying jobs at the "regional" level. Not to mention the fact that things will work out much better for the SKYW and ASA pilots when they decide to merge the two companies. Good luck guys and it will be great to have you in the ALPA brotherhood if it all works out.

Man, you guys (and gals) are completely nuts if you vote in ALPA right now. I was on the ALPA organizing committee at a former commuter and am definitely for unions but NOT AT SKYWEST. You all have it better than some ALPA regionals and if you think becoming ALPA will help you with a merger with ASA if that should happen, you all really need to put down the crackpipe. DON'T DO IT! NOT NOW!

No Alpa. No Teamsters. Yes to a Union though.

Hey, how about a toothless in-house organization run by management sympathizers? You could call it..........

:rolleyes:Megaidot....go back to sleep! No one wants to hear any of your crap. If ALPA was bad at your regional, then you only have you and the other volunteers to blame for it!

Keep up the drive skywst folks!! I will be happy to see them voted in THIS TIME!!
