Is it true that the pilots at Skywest fly the 70-seat aircraft at 50-seat rates? I find that hard to believe, but can find no information to the contrary.

That's like 40% more seats on the 70-seater.

hey red, skyw pilots make more than allot of 70 pilots when its all said and done. I understand why you posted this flame though. I would be real pissed also if I worked at mesaba and took a massive paycut. Talk to alpa about that piss pore TA, and stop being jealous. Remember we are hiring, had some mesaba guys in my class, they are very happy now.

the substandard pay at Skywest.

I'll make about $58,000 as a 2nd year FO here at SkyWest. If every other regional has a structure that pays their pilots more, then we're substandard....

....but from what I'm told, they most certainly do not.

Its Jeliousy.

Most all other regionals are jelious of Skywest. They hate the fact that Skywest is the highest paid 50-seater airline and that they are getting So much growth even with that fact.

They know that alpa is useless and that airlines like skywest have better QOL than most Alpa carriers... Mesa and ASA.

If Skywest is such a crappy place then why were ASA people leaving by the boatloads?

I CREDIT about 120 hours per month, BLOCK about 90. Add Performance Rewards, Holiday Pay, vacation pay, etc. etc. etc. We've been over this ad naseum on this board.

Hmmm....Let's see Skywest 2nd yr pay $35.00/hr x 75 hr guarantee = $2625.00/month

I'd say your math is more than fuzzy....But if lying to yourself makes you feel better, then have at it!

Because your management team is tearing apart their airline!

You take a vacation week every month? I didn't think that was possible being a second year FO? What is the etc, etc? I'm curious. I know ACA FO's made about 50K per year as second year FO's back when I was there and that was probably the top contract that's ever existed at the regionals as far as pay and work rules go.

Your an idiot!

Your - The possessive form of "you." Belonging to you; of you; related to you.

You're - Contraction for the words "you are."

Example: If you don't know the difference between your and you're, then you're the idiot.

Love your spelling.

SKW is defnitely NOT the 'highest paid 50-seater airline', not by a longshot.

SKW CA's and FO's get paid the same rate all the way up to a 99 seat jet.

Most regionals pay at least the CA a higher rate for a 70 seat RJ and higher yet for a 90 seat RJ, some pay the FO a higher rate as well.

SKW is flying CRJ900's (which were slated to go to ASA) in 76 seat configurations for the same pay as the 50 seat CRJ.

AWAC MEC recently had a short negotiation with management to establish 76 seat aircraft rates for the NW Airlink bid (CRJ900's). Management wanted AWAC pilots to be paid the same rate as our CRJ200's (50 seat) in spite of the fact that our contract has rates already established for a 51-70 seat jet (higher for CA, same for FO). Our MEC wanted to try to negotiate something higher than the 50 seat rate, but management walked out of the meeting.

THANK YOU SKW PILOTS FOR ESTABLISHING A NEW STATUS QUO!

I am inspired by your forward looking vision and pride! Happy Thanksgiving!?

Better hope management at Skywest doesn't read that. Say hello to concessions if that's true!

"THANK YOU SKW PILOTS FOR ESTABLISHING A NEW STATUS QUO!"

Couldn't agree more with that statement. I'm glad the pilot group here at Republic was intelligent enough to establish 70 and 90 seat pay (86 seat E175's we will fly for Airways) before the aircraft hit the property. It's a lot harder to get those pay rates established after the fact as Skywest is now realizing. My question is: What is the Skywest pilot group doing to get this corrected? Anything? Or are they just licking their chops at the continued growth?

Skywest is getting more growth than they can handle and their W2s are some of the highest. In the regional industry growth means upgrades and that is all that matters. Get yout 1000 pic and get out, it took 6 years at asa to get that and i'm still pissed about it.

Do you work at SkyWest? Its is very possible to hit that mark on 2nd year pay, that is you want to work your a$$ off. Flying in and out of ORD helps too.

Even at the expense of other pilot groups because you are willing to fly a 70 and 90 seat a/c at 50 seat rates? Tell this to the Comair guys. Why do you think Skywest got the 12 CRJ7's from Comair? It's most likely because Skywest will fly them for 50 seat pay. Is it not? That's a pretty selfish statement.

Yes, this is life and just another industry. Why should someone try and protect their competator? You have to do what is best for yourself thats the case in every industry.

If you really do work for CAL now (highly doubtful), then you should fit in rather well with the guys hired in '83.

You're full of it. Lets do some math. $58,000 a year, divided by 12 months is $4,833 a month. Working as much as you say you do, we'll figure on $600 a month in per diem (which is WAY more than most people bring in). I'm going to hit 1000hrs this year and I averaged $463/month in per diem. That means that you would have had to credit 121 hours every month for the whole year. And you cannot block 90 hours a month for the whole year because you would time out before the first week of December.

100 hours a month for a whole year is somewhat believable, but telling us you average 120 credit hours a month is just plain stupid.

The 12 Comair 700's are going to ASA, did you know that? Do you think ASA will fly them for 50 seat pay?

Get the facts straight before you make an a$$ out of yourself.

An internal memo. I know that's not enough for some of you, but you didn't believe that ASA had been bought either.

How would I know that they were going to ASA if it was an internal memo? Maybe you should post the memo so people won't make "a$$es" of themselves by stating the 12 jets are going to Skywest?

That why you should refrain from talking $hit and bashing other groups.
