That why you should refrain from talking $hit and bashing other groups.

It's not just me talking $hit about your company. You been under a rock? Get payed for flying a 70/90 seat jet when you fly one and people won't talk $hit about your company.

Do you support your current pay structure? Even if you don't, unfortunately the majority speaks at your company and I'd be ashamed to work with a selfish group that will fly at any pay rate just so they can continue to grow at the expense of others.

Skywest has unfortunately set a new precedent (in the wrong direction) for future pay rates at ALL companys.

As I recall skywest pilots made more than we here at ASA.
Don't associate yourself with our pilot group. You don't work here anymore and only b/c you rode in on your dads back you are where you are now. Once again a unqualified pilot taking a job that belongs to a more qualified one.

I CREDIT about 120 hours per month, BLOCK about 90. Add Performance Rewards, Holiday Pay, vacation pay, etc. etc. etc. We've been over this ad naseum on this board.

The sad thing is an FO at Horizon can make that without working on everyo one of his days off.

they are going to "Inc" so this could be SkyWest or ASA. this is just a small part of the hole RFP. SkyWest cant handle it all neither can ASA. I think ASA and Skywest will split a large part of this RFP, along with some other airlines. The one thing we know is 12 airplanes are leaving Comair...

Do you work at SkyWest?

Don't need to , your rates are published on airlinepilotcentral!

Its is very possible to hit that mark on 2nd year pay, that is you want to work your a$$ off. Flying in and out of ORD helps too.

OK smarty, lets do your math...
$58,000 per yr / 12 = $4833.33 per month

Let's say $600-$700 per month....Even $800 in perdiem takes you down to $4000.00/month. You still with me??

$4000.00/12 months = 114 hours per month @ 35/hr....

So much for 1000 in 12 calender months huh sport??

You'd time out somewhere in Sept for the year.

Like I said, keep telling yourself you're making that kind of money! No wonder you don't want to go to CAL!

I was really not trying to flame when I started this thread. Just trying to understand why any pilot group would agree to fly a larger plane (be it 70 or 90 seats) for a 50 seat rate. I would think that the pilots would demand more money to fly planes that are 40% and 90% larger respectively.

It just leaves me shaking my head. I'm not even talking about any union vs. non-union stuff. Just a straight up question as to why the Skywest pilots don't see this disparity.

If I flew at Skywest, I would demand to be paid more for the larger aircraft.

HUH sport that 1000 hours is BLOCK not CREDIT. Once again you dont work here, so you dont know. Everytime you post it proves my point.

By the way i personally know an FO who CREDITED 139 hours for one month, but that doesnt matter because you know evreything 737pylt!

My dad was hired around that time he was my in here.

S.O.S., are you proud of that? Do you walk around telling all the guys at CAL that you fly with that that actaully have a pair that your dad was a "hired in 83" type and that you would gladly do the same thing?

The 50 seat rate is right up there near the top with everyone else. Not far off from xjet etc. The rate we fly the 70 for is not far off from what most regionals fly the 70 for. This has been discussed ad nauseum. BTW last time I checked the 70/90 seater was a lot easier to fly. More automated systems etc... I demand nothing because I am already doing well. The other airlines that want to get paid more well call your MEC, its their job to get you what you want no??? Last time I checked America West flew the 737/Airbus/757 for the same rate? Why is no one angry about that? Oh ya cause its ALPA and they can do no wrong.

Well well well! That explains alot about you Poopypants! Daddy get you on at CAL after paying for all your flight training too I bet. You probally can't even fly a visual approach without the Capt's assistance either. Six years at ASA and you're pissed off about it? Wish I knew who you were so I could check out your flying skills. Well, you could have quit at anytime but daddy told you to stick it out didn't he. Whimp.

VOTED IN FAVOR!

Pylt,

I know you and the General have a woody for Skywest, so I'm sure nothing I say will make much difference. There are a lot of ways to get credit hours way beyond your actual flight hours.

I don't know if a second year guy can make $58,000 or not, but its not unusual to fly 80-85 hours and credit over 100, I do it all the time. If you fly standups, or naps, or whatever people want to call them, you can fly 45 minutes each way and credit over 5 hours.

VOTED NO

Oh yea, Well this one month I credited 8hrs and got paid for 75 and this month so far I've credited 12 hrs, been gone from home one night, but will still get paid for 75hrs.
So suck it Trebek

What a tool! The 777 and the MD11 are pretty automated. Since they are so automated, I guess we should fly them for 50 seat RJ pay since it's all about automation and ease of flying right???

Mabye your managment group can get you some 737 NG's with the HUD's. They are really automated. You can fly them for 50 seat RJ pay, upgrade even faster and you could be doing even better!

And why is it that everyone is making ALPA out to be this evil inept Enron-esque corporation type entity? ALPA are elected members from your own pilot group out to make sure they represent YOU and YOUR best interests. ALPA is what your pilot group makes them out to be.

Well said Jstyle.

It just proves that there are certain Skywest pilots willing to go out on a limb and actually try and justify flying heavier and heavier equipment for the 50 seat rate. I keep waiting for a Skywest guy to pipe up and say it's wrong. But so far all I hear are excuses. I refuse to throw the whole pilot group into one camp or the other, but just looking for intelligent ideas and thoughts from the pilots. Not ALPA bashing, not Mesa bashing, not Mesaba or Pinnacle bashing. Just honest answers.

Well isn't that nice. Another Scab Kid. When did you get on at CAL? We could tell just how much of a scab your dad is by when you got PLACED in class. Ahead of the PIGs maybe.

I think it's wonderful how these diseased scumbags have now reproduced and continued to spread their disease infested seed on the industry. People like you and your dad are at the top of the list of reasons why I turned down CAL.

You are talking about your 50 seat rate! Who gives a $hit if your 50 seat rate is almost as good as some 70 seat rates. Why don't you try to raise the bar by setting some 70 and 90 seat rates instead of lowering it by continuing to fly larger aircraft for 50 seat pay? You think this is justified because your 50 seat rates are almost as high as other regional's 70 seat rates? Come on! Keep trying to convince yourself and others that it's ok.

Get yout 1000 pic and get out, it took 6 years at asa to get that and i'm still pissed about it.

Meanwhile, they're destroying the same job they are coveting. How much do they get for that dc-9 with winglets??

83 hire dad, huh??? Bet he doesn't hang out in the crewroom much! Just another guy who says " me, me , me, me and whats in it for me."

Bet your wife has never had an orgasm.

I don't share his enthusiasm, but will back him up on one thing. I don't feel bad about picking up open time, because we have no furloughs.

Granted, our situation is not as complicated as other companys', like Delta's. Apparently, Gen Lee can pick up some OT, but it's okay because he didn't inhale.

Sorry, couldn't resist, go back to your self-loathing induced bashes against Skywest. BTW, will vote against ALPA, don't want growth at the expense of ASA or Comair [great foks there], and as to the pay proposal...

VOTED NO

Why didn't you answer my question about America West? They fly the 757/737/Airbus all for the same rate. Why aren't you guys all over that one??? I said the 700 was easier to fly. I never said it was ok to fly a 777 or a MD-11 for the same rate. The fact is the 200/700/900 is all the same type and is ok to fly for the same rate. BTW the rates will be split when the pay raise is voted in. So lets hear it why was there never any backlash for what America West did? I believe the top out rate was $138 for ALL 3 aircraft. I don't hear any anger there. I guess I'm right if your ALPA and fly a plane for the same rate its ok.

Just for the record, MANY SkyWest pilots don't like the 50-70 pay anymore than you do, they're just not on this forum.
SkyWest is not a bad company to work for (and some of the bashing against it isn't always fair). The main problem is the culture of "happy thoughts only" and "we're so good" and many new guys just don't see it yet. If you'd talk to the 10+ year pilots, the tone would be a bit different...

Isn't interesting how Skywest pilots are the only ones that compare their W2s when the industry as a whole uses hourly. From what I see the "performance pay" is the only difference. If you think that, at ASA, we would be better off with a lower rate in exchange for performance pay you are misguided.
