I like the part where the CEO thanked the pilots for working for such low wages to keep profits up.

And to compensate them, JA gave everyone a nice bonus instead, Samballs.

Are you referring to the bonus that they use to calculate our pay that makes it look like we make more than we really do?

How would a bonus not actually make you more money?

shhhhhh! don't let the secret out! my bank cashes the check for real money, and I exchange that money for real goods and services! if you blab about it too much they'll realize that it only 'looks like' real money. I want to spend mine, even if it only 'looks like' I actually got anything.

Well its official....no growth planned for 2008 according to the earnings call (besides Midwest). Reserve fo' life!

Planned. Things pop up all the time. Like they are going to come out this morning and say they PLAN on buying XJT or AE.

Didn't the naysayers say that growth would stop and upgrades would cease if ALPA was voted in? Guess it happened anyhow.

So 10 more aircraft for MidWest plus the 23 new CRJs starting in October don't count as growth?

The Midwest planes are growth and 4 of those new RJs, the rest are just replacement airplanes. Still doesn't explain why they are hiring so much.

Yeah...like mother-in-law's and rashes.

They aren't hiring so much...there has been talks about stopping classes for the next couple of months. I heard no pilot interviews for march are planned.

What does this mean?

"SkyWest recorded stock-based compensation expense of approximately $2.6 million ($1.8 million after tax) for the quarter ended December 31, 2007. Future stock-based compensation expense will be contingent upon the amount of future option or stock grants that are made by SkyWest's Board of Directors."

The FASB requires compaines to allocate stock options as an expense. In previous years the board has granted stock options to SkyWest employees with I think at least 3 years of service.

That makes sense since the FASB requires compensation to be reported as an expense. But what employees was this $2.6 million stock based compensation allocated to in the fourth quarter?

All employees with 3 years of service or more. It wasnt just one or one group of employees.

How many employees and how many shares per employee were given to them as compensation? For example, how many pilots received such compensation and how many shares were compensated to them?

They just issued stock today. I think it goes to all employees with at least 3 years service and has a 3 year vesting.

As an example, my options from 3 years ago, are 182 shares at $17.11. Just sent the letter to the broker with a sell price in the high 20's. As of 2 years ago, SkyWest does not issue options anymore. Since 2006 they have issued Restricted Stock instead. After 3 years its yours to hold or sell.

For an RJ captain the stock usually amounts to about $2,000 give or take a bit depending upon when you sell.

In the last 8 or 9 years my stock options check has ranged from $1,500.00 - $6,000.00 each year. The amounts are depend on years of service and how many hours worked the previous year.

I missed the stock grants by 1 FRIGGEN DAY!!!!! Feb 7 '05 hire. You had to be on property 3 years on Feb 6th. Grrrrr

Who cares if you missed it, its not worth another 3 YEARS. Do you plan on staying here another 3 YEARS? I didn't miss and it is definitely not tempting me to stay until its vested.

Hey, you never know what might happen.
