Anyone noticed that Steve Hart got axed today? Still think Ron Reber is going to start another airline?

Of course Steve had been thinking about this for a long time, and of course he is leaving without having another job lined up, but it was time;)

Its a management purge, who will be next?

And here is another thing..

Why oh Why do they insist on ONLY giving all of these vice president and director jobs to people from Utah?? EVERY ONE of the people hired in the last few months, that are directors or vice presidents, are either from SLC or BYU.

I think it's time to look outside the gene puddle that is Utah and get some people with real airline experience in there. Just because you graduated from BYU or the other school in Utah, doesn't mean that you are qualified to run an airline.

Rant over.

I think you know the answer to that question....

considering SkyWest's place in the marketplace, seems like it has worked well so far, right?

Ummm...you came here with "real airline experience" then left, right? maybe thats why. If you aint from Utah you dont wanna be in Utah. (sad but true)

Was he "axed", or did Reber hand pick him to be his right hand man in his new "undertaking"? Reber personally hired Hart 20 years ago. Apparently they are very close. Ron thinks highly of Hart.

There is something for sure in the works with all of this....

Stay tuned

Have to give it to them. Those Mormons know how to run a company. Here is a list of companies with Mormon CEO's. Not a bunch of no name companies :

American Express Company
Black & Decker
Central Pacific Bank
Diebold
Dell Computer
1-800-Contacts
Hollywood Entertainment
K-Swiss Inc.
La Quinta Properties, Inc
Marriott International
Novell
Oakley
Swift Transportation
Tropical Sportswear
JetBlue

May I suggest that you read the book "Hard Landing" by Thomas Petzinger. In it you will find scores of examples where executives with great airline experience and great resumes went from airline to airline destroying companies and individuals lives in their wake.

I'm all in favor of experience. But the last thing SkyWest needs is an incestuous relationship with managers from other airlines.

Pretty lame. How about the companies with a Jewish CEO or maybe a Southern Baptist?

It looks your going to tear up. When OO stops clearing 30+ million a quarter then you can really voice your concern. Until then go cry on mommies shoulder. Who cares where they went to school as long as they keep bringing in a big bank roll. Wussy.

Why does it always have to be about the Jewish guy?

Mormons are like the Mob. They don't want anyone from the "outside", operating within their family.

that's exactly the point I made. it doesn't matter where they went to school or their religion, what matters is results.

Listen dickweed, I did my time at OO, just over two years. Don't even get me started. When I first started there, it was still a family style place to work. In the short time I was there, I saw it turn into a 900 pound gorilla.

Enjoy that 30+ million you have when YOU THREW THE EMB GUYS UNDER THE BUS!

SkyWest is a great company, but I'm afraid that if it continues on the track its on, it will end up imploding, and I don't want to see that. There are lots of good people that will really be hurt by that.
