How did the skybus interview go... Also, why did you change your handle?

So those real senior captains you fly with that have been at WN since they were the Skybus of the 70's and 80's are scum of the earth for working at WN back then?

Not to mention, those initial WN guys.. how are they doing financially as a result of the risk they took? ;)

I know many pilots at American that think of WN the way you are trying to paint SX.. the pot calling the kettle black I suppose.

I think I already answered this one before. When some other low life dou%*bag that couldnt get a job elsewhere was spewing the same stuff. Good luck at such a dirt bag company. I have my doubts if you are furloughed AMR. What a clown you are. With SNJS, boo hoo go work at McD's for the same money. Heck their uniforms are better. Nice way to think of your FA's also. With that attitude you wouldnt be very welcome at SWA. What a loser!

I haven't interviewed yet. An old friend I've not spoken to in a while and I reconnected recently and he works there and loves it so he gave me the FACTS which were sorely missing here and now I'm a critic turned possible advocate. I'm keeping an open mind as quality of life is king for me and being junior forever at some long established airline is not my idea of fun.

As for the callsign. I've long since sold the Volvo and gone to Mercedes and BMW. So I got sick of the almost weekly pm's asking how I like my Volvo!

Btw. If F/A is a license then I would like to see some links to where one gets this license and under what part of the FARs its under.

I stand corrected on the lic, but clearly the requirements to get one aren't the same as an A&P or Pilot, or do you disagree?

as for calling me a Scab.. shame on you, I doubt you've been in this industry to know what that is.. And from the looks of your profile, I take it you work for JetBlue.. talk about the pot calling the kettle black! The WN and B6 guys in this thread that are piling on are beyond me! I can see the Legacy pilots being a bit miffed as their airlines fell victim to the LCC phenomenon..

What did Jet Blue pay their 1st year CA's when they started out? I recall well below $100K was the rate..

And I'd rather dress like a Park Ranger than some gay Kenneth Cole model!

No VA's black is 10 times better than the JB gay blue with the kenneth cole (DAL FA style) shirts.. That's GAY!

I was hired at American when you were still flying RJs, so don't lecture me and start throwing out scab like some old school ALPA guy..
 
I'm not the one throwing rocks thru a glass house.. In the years I've been on this form it went from a place to get good gouge on what / who is hiring and helping out a brother.. to flame, hate and attack.. I saw it with the AirTran / JB guys when the were hiring and everyone was furloughing and I sadly even fell into it.. Time to stop and act like a grown up, at least I will try.
 
Whatever people decide to do is their business! As much as I disagree, b!tch and moan, curse, humiliate, disrespect, etc., its not gonna change the fact that this is how things are gonna be. I think its pathetic, but to convince others is impossible, and thats been proven over and over again. So good luck to all. I'm now on the corporate side of things and I'm never looking the other way, HOPEFULLY!!!!!:beer:
 
HAHAHA a dispatcher makes more then the FO's. Thats how cheap that chit bag place is. They are so cheap the crew has to pay for any drinks consumed.

There was a time when your Dispatchers started out getting paid more than your FOs at Flex ;)

Just issue everybody diapers at the door. Is it fun wearing your park ranger outfit? Did you go to FFDO school so you could get a gun and complete the look? Now that would be even sexier than my Kenneth Cole FA shirt!

A captain making $90g at the beginning of his second year sure is a lot better than one waiting 18 years to make captain.. (USAir).

Umm, why don't you just go to a place like AirTran, SWA, or Frontier? Upgrade isn't 18 years, and the first year FO pay isn't poverty wages as it is at the legacies.

Here's a comparison of pay after the first 5 years. This uses current payrates at common credit times of about 85 hours for SWA, Frontier, and AirTran, and optimistic Skybus pay based on working a bunch over guarantee:

As you can see, there is no financial advantage whatsoever in going to work for Skybus, even when you consider the 12-month upgrade. Since the CA pay is so absurdly low at Skybus, working as a copilot at SWA and Frontier pays more, and it's not that much less at AAI with an 8 year old contract that's about to be improved, probably next year. The stock options that you tout are a bigger gamble than you'll find on the Vegas strip, especially since there aren't even plans for the company to go public yet.

Several CAs at Pinnacle interviewed at Skybus, one that even lives in CMH and currently has to commute to DTW, and they all turned it down after getting offered the job because it just didn't make sense. A checkairman at a crappy regional like PCL makes as much money as a Skybus CA. Captains at good regionals like ASA, Skywest, and ExpressJet make far more.

Anybody who goes to work for Skybus should have their medical revoked due to mental health concerns.
