Look, rev Wright as do alot of black preachers use the pulit to energize the congregation and use it as a political stage. I have attended a huge black church in the DC area . I have a dear friend who is the head Pastor. Years ago, Ted Kennedy's sister or relative was running for governor. he came in and sat right in front of me. he got up and gave a short speech.
in sum, black churches are used much more to galvanize support on a variety of causes not the least of which is racial related, socio-economic and class.when it's political, it is entitlement related

most conservative modern non denom churches simply use the pulpit to preach the gospel.

wow this thread went south quick...but what the heck...His wife (not running for pres so not sure why it matters) actually said that it was the first time she was REALLY proud of america, not the first time she was EVER proud of america. Why does what Obamas preacher say or said have anything to do with the way obama thinks? The difference between the right wingers and the dems is the right wingers actually listen to and do as their preachers tell them. the dems listen to what they say and can choose to disagree with it. they think about it and use logic and common sense to come to a conclusion that might be different from the preacher guy said.

I could hardly stomach the sound bites, let alone go listen to the "rev" dressed in my Sunday best every week. BTW, I don't ever recall my preacher saying anything about politics other than have us all pray for our troops in harm's way.

Willing to bet she's smarter than you by a factor of at least 100. She received her law degree from Harvard after receiving an undergraduate degree from a little place called Princeton. Didn't they have have an exchange program with your community college?

anyway, back to the topic, th local press has embraced them, ripped them and now say they'd like to see skybus right the ship.

they revealed that skybus had gone through over 50 million in capital. the numbers suggests that by cutting the scheds out of GSO, they may have increased their survival time from a year to two. they are sinking in this climate. the cutbacks prove that.

i just said they ought to get out of gboro and put planes in several different class bs chargin higher fairs and scrap the wal mart model... that was my talking point.

most people who like what the preacher says give money. they do this because good preachers pound them for it. money and mo money attracts more and mo people. those who don't like it go somehwere else. churches are always fluid. i doubt people will sit there unless they like it or their wives like Him.

So you're saying that this one black woman gets accepted into Harvard law school and just like that, she was never supposed to be there in the first place huh? I mean, you were there to review her GPA and credentials right? Did you happen to also review the credentials of the other 99.9% of applicants?

Were their daddys big doners to the school by any chance? Did their parents happen to be very affluent by any chance, perhaps even political dynasties? No? Well then I guess you're right, she didn't belong there to begin with.
