Hey folks,

IF FedEx starts cranking up hiring again (please..please...please), that means that the old sim profile is again going to be getting some discussion on the boards.

Does anyone have any recommendations, good or bad, about simulator prep courses they used to prepare for an interview? I was fortunate enough to have a Gulfstream pal who wrung me out in the sim for a few hours prior to my interview, and I know it helped my confidence and cross check quite a bit. However, I'm going to be getting a lot of questions soon about where to get good help on the simulator side.

Who offers those courses that you liked...and why? Who should folks avoid?

thanks in advance!

Higher Power at DFW runs a pretty good prep. Two years ago it was around $500 for an hour (plus a little) in the 727 sim with a great instructor running through the FedEx profile.
Did it really help? I can't honestly say -- as you know, the FedEx sim profile wasn't that tough, but since I handn't touched a jet for two years prior to my interview, I wanted to make sure that I'd knocked the rust off, and I guess it was good in that respect.
My view was that I'd rather drop 500 bones that I didn't need to and still get the job verses saving the money, busting the sim, and then kicking myself for not doing everything I could to get the job.

Hope that helped,
Z

I agree with Zulu, just the piece of mind of having flown a "heavy" sim before the big day was worth the cash.

I went to Pan AM Academy in Miami, they had an A300 sim. $475 an hour with the instructor and they had the profile and knew the drill. I would recommend the place.
